Believer's Death To Sin In Principle:

Romans Six:1-14 (KJV)
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Love always, Walter and Debbie

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Did you join Christ in His death, being co-crucified with Him?

If yes . . . are you freed from sin?

Actually in fact?

I would answer, Yes.

Much love!

John say you are repaired and worse do not know Jesus. Try 1John1:8 If we claim to be without sinwedelaud ourselves and the truth is not inus.

Amen, Confession Of Sin: and John in his epistle goes on to say in 1 John 1:9-10, and 1 John 2:1-2 and so on he says.

Love always, Walter

This seems to be a common misunderstand, and I want to be clear. I do not teach nor think that we will ever be entirely free from the spectre of sin while we live in this corrupted flesh.

We have an enemy at war with us - this flesh - and it will not let up until it is transformed from the body of this humiliation, to be like unto His glorious body. Then we will of a certainty never sin again.

Anytime our faith falters, this is entering into the realm of the flesh and the world, and and the next step past that is to act in unbelief, and that will be sin.

Return to faith, and return to freedom.

And if we revert to living in unbelief we will find ourselves liable to do any evil work, because that is the way of the flesh.

But while I life in faith, knowing I am accepted by God, then the flesh is quiet, subjected by the Holy Spirit as I offer my body as a tool for God to use. And in that is no sin.

Would to God that we remain in that abiding place always! And the more we believe this is what God empowers us to do, the more we will find it to be so. It's scary at first, to belly flop into grace, to realize that nothing I do can condemn me.

The natural reaction is, "Oh NO! No concern over sin????? You're going to go DEEP into SIN!!!" But no, in fact, it is by faith in Jesus that we have access into the grace in which we stand - Romans 5.

Not that we stand so we can enter into grace. We trust so we can enter into grace, and grace makes us stand.

He does it in me, there is no effort to not sin, as I look to God to make it so. It's why Jesus came, to free us from sin, both it's consequence and it power.

Much love!
