John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Jesus testified that no man has seen God the Father, but Jesus said that He has seen Him for why He is God.

So Who was the God that men had seen in the O.T.? Jesus said that was Him.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.... 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

What did Jesus say about being in the O.T. that the Jews almost stoned Him for saying?

John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

What day was Jesus talking about that Abraham was glad? Was it in Genesis 12:7? Or Genesis 17:1? Or was it the day when he got the news that Sarah was to have a child in Genesis 18:1-15? I am apt to think it was that day when he was glad to see Him.

The Lord also appeared to Isaac in Genesis 26:1-2.

The Lord appeared to Jacob whom had seen Him face to face and lived; Genesis 32:24-30

So Jesus is the Lord God that men had seen in the O.T. that Moses had written about.

I'm curious is this an attempt to start a debate or a genuine quest for knowledge?

Just sharing the scripture about the deity of Jesus Christ as the God men had seen in the O.T. Only God can minister and enable believers and seekers to receive the truth in His words.

its a christophany of Christ, Christ pre-incarnate,

Genesis 14:18-20 King James Version (KJV)

18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

as you probly know Melchizedek has no beginning.

Joshua 5:13-15 King James Version (KJV)

13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?

14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?

15 And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

Revelation 19:9-10
Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
So I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
