God's grace is our undeserved love and forgiveness. When we first come to Christ and share with each other, or even preach or listen. People have no understanding of what they do when they are making a graven image or dead image of the Lord. Spiritually speaking they are crucifying Jesus daily and no man can forgive this sin but the man crucified. That's why the son of man can forgive sin. Jesus said on the cross, forgive them, father, for they know not what they do. If a man comes to understand the Spirit and the risen Lord, the period of grace has ended but being versed in truth and Spirit he no longer sins. That's when Jesus said sin no more because after that a man is blaspheming the Holy Spirit which is the risen Christ.

That would make Christ's sacrifice only sufficient for sins commited before salvation. Christ became sin for us. He took all our sins on himself, not just some.

Actually grace is available as long as we live. Grace is removed when we die...and we are judged apart from grace...to see what we did with what we had been given. We will be judged harder by grace...because access to holiness and the misuse thereof is worse than simply breaking commandments.

But the mercy of God endures forever....towards the humble and doers of righteousness.

So people mix up grace and mercy....all the time. In fact many are there to try to NOT understand the gospel. :)

Grace is the power to do the will of God. And His will is that we be conformed to Christ. Grace is the power that makes that happen.

So then grace is God's power on people who are weak...or made weak through the power of the cross...so that it is Christ that shines through. That is the power of grace. His strength in our weakness.

There is an end to the period of grace. Sin is not breaking the law, sin is everything against God. The only reason you all can speak as you do about things you do not understand is grace until you come to faith.

Some of these ideas will go away if you spend time reading scripture.
1jn 3:4...for sin is the transgression of the law.

Transgression of the law is sin. The bible is the book of law. The understanding of man of the word is the transgression. The understanding of the Spirit is the manifestation of Jesus Christ and the Father.

What does your post even mean?

The understanding of man of the word is the transgression???
This makes no biblical sense.

Jesus taught some parables like the sower of seeds. We learn from them and the teachings of God are explained like the word is the seed. If you didn't know that was a parable you would be taking the words of man as the word of
God and there is the transgression. All the word is written that way. People see the disciples as fishermen and their nets and we know they became fishers of men. If you understand it, the word has two meanings and one is of man and the other of God and the word of man is the transgression if we teach it that way. It's not that the words are wrong, it is that people explain the word with the understanding of this world. When Jesus is made manifest you see the Spiritual meaning of the word.

And also, if we cannot live without sin, why would Jesus say sin no more?

Grace is where God shows us mercy, kindness, and patience instead of the judgment that we deserve for sinning against Him. God's grace cannot be earned/merited by our actions. Grace is based on the character of God and not on our performance or ability to obey the law. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.

Romans 11:6 - "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace."

The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

We are saved by grace through faith, not works, not of ourselves it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Galatians 2:21 - "I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

2 Timothy 1:9 - "who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity."

God's grace (enabling power) operates sovereignly in the lives of believers.

1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

2 Corinthians 1:12 - For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Titus 2:11 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.

Hi Collin,

This brings to mind . . .

Romans 5
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

We stand in grace. If grace ends, in what do we stand?

Much love!

When one third of the sun is darkened, the moon and the waters are darkened and made bitter. When the dark horseman is given to kill the world with death. when people are judged and cast into the fires or the mountains are set fire and cast into the sea.
So you say they are in the grace of God still.

Collin, it seems that you are the one who is somewhat confused as seen in your OP. You have touched on a lot of different topics (not necessarily all related to each other) rather than simply focused on the grace of God. There is no such thing as "the period of grace has ended" for any believer.

Salvation is all of grace and all of God from beginning to end, and salvation includes justification, sanctification, and glorification. And even when a Christian does what is right, it is by the grace of God and the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

People have taken the tread in other directions.
I just said there is an end to God's grace and I believe that. If you think I haven't read the bible, think again. Have you noticed I only teach what the Spirit says, not as things are written? You all quate Paul but yet I did find fault with what he said many times until mI understood what he meant in his teachings.

What I am saying about grace is to me it means God's undeserved forgiveness and what better example for us then when Jesus said, forgive them father for they know not what they do.
When I was saying breaking the law is not sin. There are only a few that are in the book of the law. They are the ones referring to God directly. You can't make a graven image of God but it doesn't mean a statue. It means don't take the word in a dead image but yet the word without the Spirit is dead and that is the sin, worshiping God in a dead image. When you know this you take the word for its spiritual truth and worship that way. Your sins are forgiven because of you faith. If you do know what you are doing and persist in crucifying Jesus or making a graven image of him, you blaspheme the Holyspirit. If you make a statue of God and don't know any better, you think you have sinned but no, that's not what the commandment means.
Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and soul and I can add this, study his book of law and meditate on it day and night.
