Some have the idea that they are still in right standing with the Lord even if they are living after the flesh, they are not:

1 Thessalonians 4:4,5
That every one of you should know how to control his flesh in sanctification and honour;
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God

*Those not controlling their flesh by being submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit are like sinners out in the world that do not know the Lord. Because they don't know the Lord (Know is to be ONE with the Lord as in living in agreement with His Will rather than being in agreement with the devil which is to be in opposition to God refusing to be led by the Holy Spirit)

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

*Real Christians (those that take all of God's Word seriously) submit their bodies to the Lord as a living sacrifice to life for the Lord not the pleasures of the flesh separating themselves from walking in darkness (sin) and this is expected of the Lord of those who desire to be in right standing with Him.

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

*Paul is saying here that if he does not keep his body under subjection then he will become a castaway meaning he would not be accepted by the Lord and would be a reprobate (cast away)

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

*Real Christians (those that take all of God's Word seriously) do not live after the flesh but through the Holy Spirit they stop sinning having put to death the deeds of the flesh

Galatians 5:24
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

*Those that belong to the Lord have crucified the flesh, those not belonging to the Lord have not crucified the flesh and claim they can never stop sinning because they don't understand the New Birth or Walking in the Spirit having believed the lie that God put sin in them when they were formed in their Momma's womb which is why they claim they were born sinners so they think they are supposed to continue in sin. They follow carnal minded man made religion (reformers and catholics) rather than following what the Lord teaches in His Word.

There's numerous passages telling us to sin not, so those can be posted if needed.
