You said one must be in obedience to the above. What you may not be aware of. There are guns in our home. I have stocked the cabinets with supplies: food, medicine, TP. To the point where I’ve become the hoarder. It didn’t take God or His power to run all over town the past couple weeks in preparing for all the what ifs. You said if we run out of resources then we perish. So having a gun or something to defend. Yes, even there is an old sword here if bullets run out. Not that we bought it but someone left it here a long time a go. Saying they couldn’t keep weapons in their home. Have a bag and a purse. By your estimation then I am in full obedience to the word. Yet it does not feel like obedience but fear overrunning and totally forgetting of neighbor in preservation of self first ...and none of it has made me feel one bit safer from not perishing nor from my family not perishing. There is a not perishing that takes Gods power and hoarding and grappling and running scared, I did all on my own.

If you dispense with that aspect, then you fall into the cult of mass suicide, because apparently because people can be convinced that they loose NOTHING if they move into the next realm. It's happens all the time, -- under the Jim Jones cult, under the "Heavens Gate" cult, and even when satan lies to us to kill ourselves.

It seems to me that GOD has prompted you to do what Scripture defines what you should do. And so it should be, -- making you and your husband WISE in accordance with GOD's leading and Scripture:

Esther 8:11 By these the king allowed the Jews who were in every city to gather and defend their lives, to destroy, to slay, and to annihilate any armed force of any people or province that might attack them, with their children and women, and to plunder their goods,​

And many assert that when nuclear war comes, they will walk toward the light. But in fact, GOD has placed such a strong self preservation in our essence that when the time comes we will run for our lives!

Now all we need to do is keep ministering and working until Jesus returns, according to my best understanding of Scripture, -- in the Fall of 2021 --, when we can continue serving and ministering to those who haven't used their Purse and Bag!

James 2:5–7 (YLT): Hearken, my brethren beloved, did not God choose the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the reign that He promised to those loving Him? 6and ye did dishonour the poor one; do not the rich oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats; 7do they not themselves speak evil of the good name that was called upon you?

“you did dishonour the poor one” God has chosen the poor...and to dishonour the poor is to dishonor Him. wouldn’t that include the vulnerable and elderly? Considering a lot the “elderly and the vulnerable” and what is going on, especially right now in Italy. Even here, hearing in US “Thank God we are not among the elderly and vulnerable...just put them away someplace and let us go on with our lives.” best answer to your question possibly : Romans 12:1 (ASV): 12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

There are the physical and financial poor, as well as the spiritualy poor, often together but not always.

Yet He said “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” greater is the Kingdom of God and the true One King and His reign. Not so sure my fear and running scared and preservation of self is a good thing but also hopeful God is greater and stronger than my weaknesses and He will overcome them. for me Hebrews 10:34 can not be neglected: For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

Luke 11:21–22 (YLT): 1 ‘When the strong man armed may keep his hall, in peace are his goods; 22but when the stronger than he, having come upon him, may overcome him, his whole-armour he doth take away in which he had trusted, and his spoils he distributeth...
there is only one place goods are at peace as even God said “where no thief can break in and steal nor moth consumes(devours)”. And also the “his whole armour he does take away in which he trusted” there is only One putting on of “the whole armour of God” which can be trusted and has been proved and is not overcome nor taken away ...”that you may be able to stand”. Ephesians 6:11 and Ephesians 6:13.

as Paul said they had taken joyfully their goods being distributed, knowing they have “in Heaven a better and more enduring substance”. Also the verses of who one is overcome by the same is he brought into bondage of. To overcome evil with good. Which is stronger and greater? Don’t we want to be overcome by Christ and take joyfully and willingly the distribution of our goods knowing the treasure laid up in store in heaven for those who love Him? thou shall have treasure in heaven ...take joyfully “distribute to the poor”, take joyfully the dividing of your goods and “thou shall have treasure in heaven”. How does this not line up with “seek first His Reign” “seek first His kingdom” and all these ...the armor of God which has be proved and ”tried by Fire” and can be trusted not to be overcome or taken away by one stronger...shall be added unto you. can show you in the OT where Saul put the helmet of brass and sword attached to his armour on David...yet David took it off and said twice said he could not go with these things which had not been proved. how many times has God said He has been proven and to prove Him before others and to put on the new man and His “the armour of God”; to be trusted and able to stand against, stronger than the devil and he who is in the world. Instead David found five smooth stones...and put off ”those things” he said had not been proven...

“his whole-armour he doth take away in which he had trusted,“ What does that mean to you? What is the “whole armour“ which is not taken away being not overcome by one stronger, as God said to trust in this armour, His armour?

Many people are having anxiety issues over world events. Just Trust Him....everything is working together for good. What satan meant for evil God will turn it to good.
I don't understand the enormous panic over this virus when in 2009 the Swine Flu infected over 22 million Americans and over 4k died within a year. It originated in Mexico and spread to the US and within weeks was a worldwide pandemic. Obama didn't declare it a national emergency until October of 2009...months after the epidemic began. Obama refused to shut down travel and close borders....and by 2010 it was over...not quite sure but I think around 500K people died worldwide from the H1N1 virus (Swine Flu).

I already said that you could use Scripture to discount other Scriptures. You don't have to obey ALL Scripture, because NOT ALL SCRIPTURE is PROFITABLE:

2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.​

-- well, at least ignore that verse. There's several that you and I disagree with, but we both like at least one or two verses in the Bible. And THAT SHOULD SUFFICE! :)

Some years ago ViJ I was ship wrecked in the Solomon Sea north east of Australia. It was DIFFICULT, DIFFICULT, DIFFICULT, yet in this trying time God revealed himself with small tokens that lifted my spirits and kept me going.
I learnt that as long as my focus was on my physical situation it was crushing but when I lifted my voice in song and changed my focus the burden seemed bearable, dare I say, not so bad.
Oh Lord strengthen me to remember and keep before my face your kindness all the days of this life.

So before we "trust" that Jesus will provide for us, we must FIRST OBEY that we must provide for ourselves, -- to the best of our ability. And AFTER we have provided for ourselves to the best of our ability, -- THEN GOD WILL STEP IN AS NECESSARY to leverage our resources. -- Or so I anticipate.

Bobby Jo, I truly get what you are saying....
I hate stirring up old arguments but it is my calling...I hear very accurately His instructions.
There isn't going to be a famine of supplies here in the US. God is pouring His Spirit out upon the whole earth and the Great Awakening has begun....as well as the great apostasy.
I have been instructed to go out and minister to others and speak what He has given me to speak.
You see, God must RESTORE His Church and His Prophets and we must prepare for the harvest.
So that's what I have been told to do.

all have concerns be careful for nothing mean anxiety dont gt in a big panic be concerned . but use our faith. storms come and go .i dont like storms they do make me nervous. . but i do a lot of praying try to put my

i thought of a movie i seen once a captain was in charge of a military ship .back when thy had cannons and sails. as he stood at the helm giving directions steady as she goes. staying calm. i see that as God speaking through the Holy spirit if w read on down he tells us where to put our thoughts . concerns yes i have them laid off till april 13 or 27th. our supply chain interrupted . my son job is not looking good no work .as a father i am concerned for him. .

i am hearing of folks being healed some of the trial ,ds are having effect. paul pointed out 5 things in this chapter.. 1.don't worry 2..take it to GOD in prayer. 3.be thankful 4. think positive. 5 constantly do what we learned. proverbs 3
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 4 steps to take.

is this easy? no it takes discipleship we are all a work in progress . as for me i am a big work in progress . lets all keep praying with out ceasing evening morning and noon . keep our eyes on Jesus. ( this is just as much for me as anyone ) i hope this is took in a positive way

I wonder if trusting in our own devices renders trusting in God void but under the guise of faith? I think of various stories in the scriptures where God only intervened when from human rational all was lost, for example, Daniel in the lions den, his three friends in the fiery furnace, the Hebrews at the Red Sea with Pharaoh behind them, Joseph in the prison house, Peter chained in the prison and ultimately those who received loved ones back from the dead.

What do we hope to achieve with weapons anyway...kill or maim someone because they're coming to get us or take our stuff? Trusting in God's word hardly supports that particularly if God sees that through our loss of stuff or life it becomes a catalyst to bring many to believe as was Stephans stoning.....something we would not be a able to see ahead of a threatening situation.

Will it be a blow to our ego and our precious sense of self determination?....it surely will be and perhaps this is what will be required to be humbled?.... perhaps having the rubber where it hits the road in our journey of faith mean having all support of our own devisings stripped away?
