To the heart that is heavy with sin and confusion;

Freedom from sin does exist...But it will not come by an exercise of will power.... But by the exercise of the will to choose to believe...

To make a conscious choice to believe what and how God puts forth in scripture as the way to be made free from sin...But this way will not be embraced till all other ways have been tried and proven to fail time and time again...

For until one gets sick of trying and failing, trying and failing that they are willing to look outside themselves to help that comes from God alone.....This willingness to look away from oneself to God is the action that will bring the desired relief....If this looking away from oneself to God will not be forsaken or given up on as something that doesn’t work or can’t possibly be the way of God....

For faith and perseverance in the faith is what is called for...A willingness to give up all ones life to have the operation of God upon it and in it....

For the eyes of the heart have to be brought to the place where they have given up on ever pleasing God by any effort they in themselves can muster....For by the faith of the heart turned towards God do all things from God come...

For if in the honesty of one’s heart one has turned to God, God has accepted them...Now faith in this acceptance is called for, a believing in the love of God as a real thing...And this real thing pointed towards them personally, which it most certainly is...Faith in the love of God, never to fail which it will most certainly not...

Faith in the love of God to do something in it and upon it that itself can not possibly do...But it is this last part that stumbles.....That, one can not possibly do, this is the place and acknowledgement God is working towards...A end of all self effort so one might enter into the rest of God and end all the efforts of self....

May these words bless, as we learn of Christ and grow in Him..

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me.

Get away with me and you'll recover your life.

I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you."
Biblegateway, MSG, chapter 11, Matthew

I really like the way The Message says that verse.

To the heart that is heavy with sin and confusion;

A heavy heart is something all of us experience during life in this world; sickness, financial disaster, loneliness, or grief from loss of loved ones. You make the remedy sound so complex when God has provided such a simple remedy for us:

"Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to him whose life is bitter.
Let him drink and forget his poverty
And remember his trouble no more." Proverbs 31

Simply, booze is the Biblical answer. It is also the Biblical source of joy:

Wine is a gift to mankind as a symbol of joy and gladness,

"Wine to gladden the heart of man" Psalm 104.

"Go then, eat your bread in happiness and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works." Ecclesiastes 9:7

O oh
An O/T teacher told us, Wine would not have been as strong in those days-more like grape juice (D. Swanson)

As an experienced winemaker, I can assure you that wine always ferments to 11.5 to 12.5% alcohol. Those who proclaim that wine would have been more like grape juice are ignorant false teachers.

After the grape harvest, grape juice starts to ferment into wine. And I have heard all sorts of silly nonsense, like Jesus did not drink wine at the Passover Supper. It was just grape juice. Six months after the harvest, with no refrigeration, there would no such thing as mere grape juice.

Some bitter religious types just hate God's symbol of joy.

As a winemaker, isn’t it amazing that Jesus turned water into wine in seconds. How long does making wine take you?

proves HE created heaven, earth and universe in six days. (Why did HE take so long?)

That's a beautiful explanation, Not Me. Resting in Jesus, instead of struggling to do what we cannot do without Him.
