It’s the same drill, just a different medium.Yeah,.. I meant the kind of text roleplaying but thank you. :)

Doesn’t @Josho play video games?
In video games, you have fun doing and being something besides your same-old-same old. Have some adventure and fun.
A role-playing video game has that same fun. Same with other role playing games of the non-video game variety.
See.
So wouldn't the same apply to playing a character in a Christmas play?
@Rita Must be hard for them to get a grip on reality sometimes....In my job I have to often role play with the residents that have dementia. To them I may not be seen as a housekeeper cleaning their rooms, I could be a classmate from school, a fellow office worker , and employee or a member of their family. So I play along - endeavouring to work out who I am to them through their words.

A real favorite...You know maybe you should try singing one of my favorite Christmas songs as practice,.. it's called Silent Night.![]()

That’s easily solved: play with small group of close friends whom already have mountain of embarrassing black mail on you. ;)Lolz to continue our conversation, even though it may look like I might be good at role-playing in real life, it's not really my thing to be honest. I'm too shy to be an actor and I wasn't a fan of role-playing in school plays.![]()

That's all well and good, and then there was the day my wife and I were in the dementia wing, and this man grabbed my wife, "You! You're staying here with me! Don't go away!" When I intervened, "She's my wife!!!", he was shouting, so the nurses came quickly, thankfully! In my job I have to often role play with the residents that have dementia. @April_Rose I do enjoy Christmas! the truth of the Incarnation is so important, in any case...I'm glad you understood that I was joking, but I swear if you say one more word about Christmas I'm going to ask Santa for some duct tape. XD
Yes, that’s when it gets difficult. Many of our residents think other residents are their husbands or wives, but in most cases it doesn’t cross any lines ( but there have been a few that have and careers have to take measures to protect both residents )That's all well and good, and then there was the day my wife and I were in the dementia wing, and this man grabbed my wife, "You! Otherwise, yeah, that's the best you can do I think!
Much love!
It takes a bit of practice and time to get to know the residents. When I first started it was really difficult to get the hang of it. However demencia training help ( all the teams have to do regular courses ) It’s kind of second nature to me now xThat's awesome. Doesn't matter who they think you are, just allowing them to talk what they do remember, good for their well being.
God Bless,
