I didn't see any technology part of the forum so I figured that I would post this here. I just got new phones,.. and it's part of the landline. The other phones we had were just getting so old that we needed new ones. That got me to thinking,.. how many people actually still have landlines? Read newspapers? (We don't) Use snail mail? (Again we don't) It's amazing how much technology has changed and improved over the years.

No landline. I don't read newspapers anymore. I read my news online. No snail mail. I can't remember the last time I mailed a letter. No desktop computer. I have an iPhone, an iPad and a laptop. I subscribe to different live streaming services to watch television and movies online.

I don't have a landline, we chose not to get one when we built our new house.

We are using 4G, we don't own phones with the capability of 5G yet.

When I want to use the internet on the laptop or ipad, i just set up a hotspot on my phone.

Good post! There should be a forum for this on here.
For decades I would buy the daily paper on my way into work. That is mostly when they had the vending machine things where you put quarters in and grab a paper. Then, those things pretty much disappeared so I would buy at a corner store.

I got tired of all the cheap ink they had started to use so, I - just like that - stopped a decades old habit. I now get ALL my news online. AP, Reuters, Al Jazeera...on here too, lol.

I have my Android that I use as my main phone but I do have a home phone and I only use it with certain people who I tend to talk longer with. It also comes with the cable package.

I don't watch TV...I do watch movies or documentaries. And that is usually on my computer. I would throw out my TV (which collects dust, lol) before I would my computers.

I check my email a few times a week...sick to death of FB but, thee are those I do connect with on it so, i check that every few days.

Snail mail...very rarely.

And yes, technology has increased as knowledge increased...

Since we can't get together for parties... Christmas cards by mail will be da bomb this year.

If you are going to get Christmas cards out in time you are going to have to do it earlier than you want to think about.

We have a landline and use snail mail. Even though I am an IT person I have come to despise technology and how it has taken over everyone's life. If I wasn't disabled and in a wheelchair I would move my family to the mountains and totally live technology free.

me & my parents don't have a landline phone but we do have cellphones, we also have PC"s and i have a laptop but that's it, we do have TV"s but no streaming services, we have Dish but no streaming options set up

I still have landline. I haven't read newspapers since the paparazzi were stalking Princess Diana and there was never any proper news. And I still write the (very) occasional letter - mostly to Rita. I also mostly use a desk-top PC or laptop when I can get it to work. It often doesn't as it has a 'stuck key' which I don't know how to fix. (Ideas to fix it welcome).

Neither do I...but if it's common enough you can probably get it either repaired or another keyboard to plug into it. (You'll need software that comes with it) it won't exactly plug into it either...just a little plug and then it will work wirelessly from across the room if you want to be that far away from it.

Sometimes good old technology like landlines can be used with current fiber optic technology, it can reduce the EMF radiation that can make unbalanced growth of bacteria inside our body. When I was first buy a new computer 2 decades ago, I felt like being excited everyday and now after I found the fact that computer monitor are being used as nervous manipulation, I realized there is a nerve addiction and I cannot relax a bit of seconds. New technology does used as a war machine to our sanity and privacy. Right now our lives are in the box of a smartphone, if the phone is lost or broken we felt like being lost of our entire life. Since smartphones are widely produced everybody is losing their verbal communication to each other and under the same family we're no longer have a warm communication to each other. Smartphone and digital tech are the new idol, use them wisely only when we need to make them as a righteous tools to glorify Lord and bible.

You don't have to be across the room... ROFL... you can just use the wireless keyboard.

We used to have one connected to the television monitor. We used a wireless keyboard and mouse from across the room on the couch... just saying that it works.
