Satan and other malicious spirit beings inhabit heaven, are you aware of this gregg?

Heaven is God's dwelling place, but He is not alone. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Jb 1:6-7

The Exalted Jesus is assembling a called-out people, an ecclesia, the Body of Christ, who will also one day inhabit those places where the enemy is. When that day comes, we will be ruling with Him, reconciling all the universe and the malicious ones there.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence. For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fulness dwell;And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven. Col 1:18-20

And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, Eph 3:9-10

So you see by these scriptures that our position with God is not merely valuable for salvation, it also has the expectation of reigning with the Christ of God. It is through us that God is going to reconcile and make right His will in heaven, and apart from us it will not happen. His plan will not be changed and He has declared it to come to pass.

The heavens and those opposed to God who are there now are going to be deposed. We will be taking our place alongside Christ the King, and there will no longer be allowance for their evil activities there. They will be judged by us, and receive correction at our hand according to the King of Glory.

As it is on earth so it is in heaven. There is chaos in both spheres. And things will continue downhill for both places until the Day of the Lord, and grace and mercy disappear off the face of the earth. He will then come to break the nations to pieces with a rod of iron.

I see what your trying to say Fivesense, but I read it like Gregg also................. I know because I see lots of Healing and Miracles in my Circle.

They will be done on earth as it is in Heaven....................... Was Jesus talking about the principalities of the air? No, He would have to be wanting the Kingdom of devils to come and their will be done.

Jesus was talking of the Heaven where God sits. No devil issues up there. Jesus was also talking about the Kingdom of God in all of Matt 6. He talks about needs being meet and seeking the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added.

Jesus said the Kingdom of God begains inside us and starts with the sower sows the Word. Mark 4. Faith comes by hearing the Word of god.

So, we know that Jesus said all things are possible to them that believe, that is everything!!!

It is God's Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, and as Gregg pointed out there is no sickness, poverty, or a bunch of mess in Heaven. That is the Will of God on Earth. God does not want you sick, broke, and sad, but a abundant life in Christ Jesus.

Jesus told us how to get that, He said seek the Kingdom of God............ Sow the Word in your heart!!!!!!

Now we have a messed up earth and devils all over the place...........................So, unlike Heaven, things may not just fall off the tree into our lap. We use the Word of God to give us the ability to have faith.......... Faith that overides what we see in the natural. That is the operations of the Kingdom of God. We walk not by sight.

So, when I see a pile of bills on the Table, I can worry, and just be sad all day without a way to pay them, or I can be full of Joy and believe what God said. That he will supply all my needs. Which ever one I act on, is the one that is going to happen.

Jesus said take not thought............ take not thought............. So, worry is not going to get those bills paid, and it's not faith. In fact, if I do take thought, and worry, then I pay homage to Satan and his will, and not the Will of God who said all my needs are met.

We are told that if we pray according to the Will of God, we can have confidence that he heard us and that we have the petitions desired of him. They will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven is a good indication of a place to start concerning His will about something.......

Any Porn shops in Heaven?? No, so don't ask for that.

Anyone Sick in Heaven.?? NO, so By His stripes I am healed.............I can ask and expect that.

I understand your reasoning. It is nice. I was merely pointing out the truth and the evidence that heaven is not as he supposes it to be, and that it also, as the earth, is not reconciled to this point. The ideal put forth, which we should anticipate, will not come to be until we, the Body of Christ, including you Mike, have taken up our position alongside the Christ as His complement in the heavens. You may feel ahead of the rest in your outlook and activities, but I assure you that any advances in the Kingdom of God at present do not exceed the bounds of conforming His saints into the image of Christ.

It seems to me that the title of this thread was asking, or stating, how one might determine or know God's will.
Gregg's determination of what God's will ought to be or where he may find it is somewhat skewed.
For example, Gregg states that there is no poverty sickness or strife in heaven.
He goes on to extend that logic to his own life where he seems to assume that those troublesome things will not or ought not enter his earthly experience.

Nothing could be further from the truth.
Case in point is the old testament which is full of all sorts of trouble, war, famine, pestilence, persecution, and divine judgments of every sort.
In the New Testament we have numerous letters written to the church which deal with suffering, the temptations of sin, living the Christian life when times are bad, and even the judgments of God all over again.

Man is born to trouble and any statement or expectation otherwise is an empty unBiblical fantasy.

God's will for us is to be with us in the storm...not to create smooth roads everywhere.

That IS God's will, and it WILL be done.

The point was that jesus said. "thy will be done on earth "AS IT IS IN HEAVEN"..............

It was more of a statement of God's will for us here on Earth. Like you stated, God wants to be with us in the Storms, because on Earth there are gonna be storms..........

So, with other scriptures such as the one above, we can better trust God when the bad things come. We know that by trusting him, and know that He does want to help, will in turn help us get the victory.

You know the story about the guy that built his house on the rock and the one that built his house on the sand.

Well, the flood hit both houses!!!!

Now the man that did not take heed to the Word of God lost everything but the other man Jesus said the house did not even shake.

So, though the house did not shake, or was taken down. I am sure the man was without power for a time, I am sure there was yard clean up, and He sure could not go anywhere during that flood, but God was with him.

So, [email protected]................. I don't think we are trying to convey that all is rosey down here on Earth. It's just that God is good, and it's His will to help us, like you stated above.

Hey Brother Mike I appreciate you comments here on the board. I notice you always sign with "Jesus is Lord". Now this is an honest question, and I was just wondering if you are a Kenneth Copeland kind of guy? I mean Copeland is always saying that at the end of his messages, "Jesus.....is.......Lord!" I don't ever watch Copeland on TV, but of course living here in Ft. Worth for 31 years I've been to the conventions downtown a few times and some friends I've had worked at Copelands. I was just curious--that's all. Thanks.

In 1997 I landed myself in Prison, lost my family, and the World turned dark for me. (not that I did not deserve any of it.)
At that time I had just given my life to Jesus right before trial, and getting thrown in prison.

I was raised Presbyterian, then later methodist, and even some Baptist. So, going in prison that was my view on God. I soon got into the hands of a Large group of men that were doing strange things like laying hands on the sick, and I witnessed Cancer healed. I was there!!! All strange stuff to me, but it was the only group of believers in my wing. So, I put up with it.

Those brothers gave me book after book to read. Lots of them were Kenneth Copeland, but I read lots of Catholic books to. Whatever I could get my hands on. Well, these brothers in Prison showed me a whole different God, and I found out that Kenneth Copeland would send me any tape I request or book for free to Prison. Copeland also sent me a monthly mag and letters.

I soon started to get up everyday at 5am just to watch the believers voice of victory, and could not get enough of Brother Copeland, and latter Kenneth Hagin and Jesse Duplantis. It was a whole lot different than what they told me at the Presbyterian church.

When I was released and almost 2 years full of study and faith. My son contracted T-cell Lymphoma, a rare form of leukemia.

B-cell is the most common and if caught early it has over a 85% cure rate as of the year 2000. T-cell not so good, as it not only effects bone marrow but all the organs in the body produce tumors. Hard enough to remove one tumor from one organ.

My son went from just running a fever to being rushed by ambulance to Chicago Childrens memorial Hospital. They went to work right away with transfusions, heavy doses of chemo, spinal taps, bone marrow take from hip bone. He went though this everyday, and his body just turned more blue from all the blood vessels breaking under the skin. One the ninth day, my wife called and told me they could not save him, it would be that night or the next day I would loose my son.........

Brother Copeland taught me something though........ Never, never, never waiver and never speak against what you believe. You have what you say. He taught me the Lord is faithful, and never fails. Kenneth taught me that God is not mysterious, and always on my side. (People get a strange notion that bad and evil things is God on their side in some mysterious and unexplained way.)

Brother Copeland also taught me not to ever accept a evil report. By faith the Elders obtained a good report........... BY FAITH!!!

After I got that call on day nine, I did not move........... My son will live and not die!!!! Not one time did I ever confess he was sick, but healed. Not one time did I let worry stay on my mind. I cast it down. Jesus promised I would have what I said. Jesus is not a liar, and the devil like so many out there kept saying Copeland is false, Copeland is false. FALSE TEACHER!!!!

On the tenth day I got a call early in the morning. (Devil said that is the news of my sons death...... man, he just don't give up.) It was my wife, and she told me they did the regular bone marrow test and spinal tap, and could not find one cancer cell. They were so amazed by this that my son had to spend the rest of the day going over test, after test. (Must have been hard on him, I was on parole and could not be there.)

Now my wife, was just hearing the things I have studied two years in prison. She had a Copeland tape of mine she took with her to Chicago. A nurse saw that, and came to give her a hug for my sons cancer free condition. She told my wife that she knows who Brother Copeland is, and has seen lots of children die, but she told my wife that parents that have known Brother Copeland and others who believed for their children have different outcomes. The nurse said this is not the first miracle she had seen. She could tell a difference in outcomes when the parents were in fear.

So, I give all the glory to God, and yes............. Jesus Is Lord............and I got that from Brother Copeland, and I am so thankful to this day that God is faithful, and a whole lot better than people think he is.

I think this is an important post and critical topic.
God's will can be broken into 3 main categories. His sovereign will is what will happen. He also has desires ("will") for all Christians which are universal. Finally He has preferred desires for each individual (like any father has for his individual children).
The best book on the topic I have ever read (and I've been a Christian for many years) is called "Thy Will Be Done On Earth" by Robert Lloyd Russell.
Every person I know who has read this book has found it life-changing in a positive way.

Romans 8:15-16 have always been my favorite versus in the Bible. They talk a lot about being in the will of God:

"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba, Father. For as many as are lead by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
