"All this fraud" After working in IT I understand how the reasons for failures and issues can be complex and theorising never helps.
Elections are now electronic with networks feeding in numbers from all over the place. Because you get communication failures you have to check the data and verify, and correct it when there are failures. Now the problem with displaying numbers as they are sent real time, the audit etc if often not done till later.

Unless you know in detail the systems and verification processes one has no clue. The compromise is to give everyone the general position to see how it is going, so that they can see like everyone the trends etc. If you start to say fraud because of seeing the process build up and adjust, you encourage people to hide this data until verified and certain. From my perspective I would rather see it all, and at the end see the figures are water tight. It is unfortunate that political capital can be made on a robust process. And with the best will in the world there will be fraud and mistakes. The key issue is the cost to keep this minor in impact, compared to making everything 100% clean with voter ID, pre-registration and authorisation.

One solution is simply to force all voters to vote through their most secure identification channel. In certain cultures this is ok, in others an infringement of their rights. So one discovers in reality it is always a compromise.

With the internet and everyone using a secure email address through which everything flows, maybe moving voting to this ID would work as it is becoming the defacto definition of how to contact people. In the UK it is normally based around ones address, as this changes slowly, ie every few years or so.

But the issue is not about voter identification rather about who to undermine a victory by an opponent.
This is not going to end well as Trump refuses to acknowledge he has actually lost the vote, and legitimately the government will put a new president in the white house whether he likes it or not. I suspect the sad reality is this guy could push things to civil war. The language and drum beat is going that way. Unless people break the spell of the crumb trail......
