Yes, I am a fan of Perez Prado.@Pearl I was never into it, but I think you were, you said; so if you could go back years would you concentrate more on the Latin ones like the jive, charleston and maybe tango?

Perez Prado was known as the mambo king. I have a cd.@Pearl Some of the tangos are quite slow at times, but they seem to be in a special class of their own as Latin dances, don't you think?
What does the bible say about the other half of the marriage - the husband?
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Ephesians 5:25-33
The marriage relationship is a picture of how the church should be, A wife who submits, is loved by the husband, and this submission in turn teaches the man how to submit to God in his life and to do His will. By Loving the wife, the Husband protects and sanctifies the wife, He lays down his life for her as Christ laid down his life for the church, even when that love is unrequited by the wife, which is all to common in this day age of feminism and men being seen as the enemy.
The modern woman in this day and age has a grocery list for what they look for in a man and sacrificial love is not one of those items, as a result there is a movement going on that is counter to this known as MGTOW (men going their own way), and it is a sad state of where our culture is heading. There are fewer and fewer healthy marriages, and most woman are not finding that kind of nurturing and sanctifying love in the men that are out there, instead it is a purely physical attraction that unites, and when that physical attraction dies so to does the marriage die.
This is not just a world problem but a Church problem as the church has itself is losing its desire to submit to the will of God. A woman who submits is that much closer to the will Of God than the man is, it is far harder for a man to learn submission, and God uses the marriage to teach the man this, whether it is by the woman submitting or the wife not submitting. Either way, we men learn this submission, and in so doing we learn to Love as Christ Loved us, and while we were yet sinners he died for us with the hope of our eventual sanctification. I Hope this helps someone who is struggling with submission and or with a partner who will not submit. A healthy loving relationship between a man and a woman is a picture of a healthy relationship between Christ and his church.
See my post number 2.
Yes I read it and thought I would add a male perspective.... The Man in your example is submitting to the Choreographer, Christ Jesus. When the church is in perfect submission to Christ there is a beautiful Dance between the two. A Good Marriage teaches the man that, and even a bad marriage can teach that to a man. We need to Love the wife even when they do not submit to us. For that is how Christ Loves us, in the hope of our sanctification.
I Am writing this to encourage those in troubled marriages as well, for there are many.
this is a pleasing woman :- preoccupation with vanity is foreign.....she is frugal.....she says what she means and means what she says......she shoots straight......a smile is never far away and being trustworthy is a given......she has no hesitation to put her shoulder into whatever requires it......she is not a sloth or given to profanities.....in short, she has integrity........annnnd, if you know anyone like this please send them my way :)wanted to ask what makes a woman pleasing? Terrified to ask because not sure I’m going to like reading what makes a woman pleasing. Conflicted over ‘pleasing to man’ or ‘pleasing to God’? Pleasing to woman? Or pleasing to God? Struggle here for hearing all my life from even those who do not believe in God nor the word say how much debt a woman owes to a man. And how her body is not her own but man has authority over her body. Not saying this has been everyone’s walk but seldom if ever is it ever brought up neither does the man as everything in the above is mutual. So, wanted to see what God says about marriage and duty.
1 Corinthians 7:1-6 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. [2] Nevertheless, to avoid fornication Strong's Greek: 4203. πορνεύω (porneuó) -- to commit fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. [3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. [4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. [5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. [6] But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
what stands out in the above is first) the wife has not authority over her own body, but also the man does not have authority over his own body. Fornication, immoralities, in the above leads back to that word porneuó for immortalities. Yet separate and apart pleasing, single, is so widely accepted as a right of the individual, apart from any mutual agreement. Doing what ever with the body without any regard for the ‘mural’ until the ‘mural’ is desired.
second) the word benevolence: what is that word?
Topical Bible: Benevolence
Third) defraud ...as in to rob another. Leviticus 19:13-14 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him : the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. [14] Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.
μὴ
(mē)
3361: not, that...not, lest (used for qualified negation)
a prim. particle
depriving
ἀποστερεῖτε
(apostereite)
650: to defraud, deprive of
from apo and stereó (to rob)
Finally. Does this verse speak of the woman being able to keep her husband from getting sex elsewhere by (control, authority, over his body)by keeping him happy and satisfied? For it says upon agreement for a season you give yourselves to fasting and praying and come together so when tempted you will be strong? Struggle with this for elsewhere the word says the woman is the weaker vessel and for the man to give strength as the Lord does to His body. In the garden it was her who was tempted in doubting what God said. Where was Adam? Is it therefore the woman who has the power in her body to keep her husband at home, not tempted, or looking, or leaving, by how much she pleases him? What of the woman being tempted to doubt what God has said when temptation to fall comes?
I suppose every man has his own idea of a pleasing woman, just as every woman has her idea of a pleasing man.this is a pleasing woman :- preoccupation with vanity is foreign.....she is frugal.....she says what she means and means what she says......she shoots straight......a smile is never far away and being trustworthy is a given......she has no hesitation to put her shoulder into whatever requires it......she is not a sloth or given to profanities.....in short, she has integrity........annnnd, if you know anyone like this please send them my way :)
@Pearl I think you said that what you like in the TV competitions is the quality of the couples coordinating as one, which 'preaches' well, as to an underlying spiritual truth, right?...each of us having our role and becoming one - as do the dancers in my post. Dancing to the same tune, the man leading the woman, the woman following willingly and being a couple (single) instead of two separate people.
@Pearl So she's professional, then, while the older man is amateur. Interesting...I wonder how usual / unusual is that combination? I looked up just now and Oti Mabute seems to be quite well known. The oldest couple won; Bill Bailey the celeb who is 55 and never danced before and Oti Mabute the professional. The performed three dances; Quickstep, their couple's choice routine and their Showdance. It was a close call as all the couples were brilliant.
That's how it starts off six celebs who never danced partnered with six professional. They have just one week to learn each dance. It must be intense. |He is the oldest celeb who has ever won. Oti won last year too.@Pearl So she's professional, then, while the older man is amateur. Interesting...I wonder how usual / unusual is that combination? So it turns out that she the much younger one is the real veteran, while he the older one is the amateur...
She does look a really assured, handsome professional lady, doesn't she?
@Pearl Yes, she seems strong and controlled, as in her nominal submission to her older partner on the floor it's she as a veteran professional who would be guiding him to lead. She is beautiful and a very talented dancer and choreographer and I think she deserved to win. Every year they choose older celebs like Bill and everybody expects them to go out of the competition early, but he surprised everybody by his dancing ability.
I'm sure she would respond well to it.It must be intense.
But to have to teach a complete novice in just a week . . . .@Pearl Yes, she seems strong and controlled, as in her nominal submission to her older partner on the floor it's she as a veteran professional who would be guiding him to lead. I'm sure she would respond well to it.
All part of the grace and mystery of the routines, I guess...
@Pearl Well, yes. I can see that with her calm determination she radiates both an inner and physical strength to teach such a floor partner; you said she was a past winner also...But to have to teach a complete novice in just a week . . . .
