By the way...I'm also a worship pastor.
I'm not some big-shot anything...God has given me the ability to nurture musical talents He has placed in people and cause them to prosper.
My reward is watching you prosper.
My reward is watching these gifts grow.
My greatest reward is participating in causing Him to be praised, worshiped, and adored, on an ever-increasing level.
He is so much more than worthy!
We love Him because He loved us first. 1 John 4:19 :)

Until I met my Father for the first time, I played guitar, for the most part, alone.
I did not sing or write, and the few times I made an attempt to do so, I was quickly convinced that I couldn't.
I could play around others if I had drank or taken something to calm my nerves.
All in all, I preferred to play in private, though I could play fairly well.
Then God anointed me and things started changing.
At first I could sing freely in a small group.
Then I could sing and play guitar together.
Then I could sing and play in a small group.
Then I starting writing and composing my own songs.
Then I could play electric guitar with the worship team.
Then I started singing back-up.
Then I started leading the Sunday morning worship team.
Never developing as a singer, I imagined someone thinking, "If this guy sings like this and he leads the worship team, surely I can sing and not sound out of place."
Worshipping God is caught, not taught.
People aren't supposed to be looking at me, anyway. :rolleyes:

If you could specify the exact reference, I'd appreciate it.
@Truman Ron Coates

"24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he." (John 4.24-26)

Okay...I thought you were referring to the warfare song. :)

Our battle is not against flesh and blood, by that I mean we have spiritual enemies that we, as followers of Jesus Messiah, have been given authority over.
We exercise this authority when we speak God's word, including the written word and the manifestation of the gift of tongues.

MY FOREVER FRIEND

I have a friend who walks beside me
On this path that is my life.
I know he will protect and guide me;
Comfort me in times of strife.

He is my rock; he is my fortress,
He is my king, my all in all.
He is my shield, he is my refuge;
He will catch me when I fall.

When my strength is all but gone,
And I feel I can’t go on,
He reaches out and takes my hand;
He lifts me from the searing sand
And carries me a while.

Until my spirit’s been restored
My Jesus, my redeemer Lord
Holds me close against his breast;
In him my weary soul finds rest.

And when he knows I’ll stand secure
He sets me on my feet once more.
I turn to look into his face,
Awed by his power, love and grace;
And regaining strength with every stride
I continue walking by his side
Refreshed.
Pearl, I have a proposition: if you would like, and with your permission, I'd like to put this to music with my guitar. I would then give it to you as a gift. Doing this for you would be my reward. Truman Ron.

Truman, I would be honoured. Jesus tells us, 'Freely you have received, freely give.'
