I already told you the meaning of the verse. You think too highly of yourself, and are seduced by the dark side if you cannot humble yourself and follow the Lord.
Sheep is a metaphor, some people are meant to be followers and some people are meant to be leaders. If you are a leader in Christ he follows you in your chosen destiny.

Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (So how does God follow me if I am following him)

LOL. All you told anyone was your opinion, there are other opinions unless your opinion is law.

It's not

Plus there's always the verse immediately preceding Joshua 1:9....you know verse 8

.

How you doing with that one?

Probably not...
Hey I'm all for environmentalism until the day it starts costing lives of people. And most people agree with me on that. Aren't you a people?
Several states are beginning to put bounties on the critters...they don't pay taxes and keep ranchers and hunters from paying them. Guess who loses? The wolves.
So in areas where the wolves are encroaching on people...their days are numbered. I think relegating them to the wilderness areas is sufficient. They breed like rabbits.
As long as there is the law and the grace of God the wolves are here to stay. Wolves are among Gods most wonderful creatures. I pray that you may learn the wonder and grace of all God's creations.

Maybe the wolves you are thinking of aren't the same ones I know...

If I encounter one I'm shooting first and burying it afterwards.

My Apple, Google and Netflix shares are doing just fine.

How are yours doing?

Even thinking of depositing some funds in the Vatican bank

John, you are a little boy of a troll looking for an argument, and by the power of God I just snapped my fingers and you are gone. I chose life, while you chose death.

Ignored

See ya...!

PS. Are you going to shoot all the lions tigers and bears too?

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

This is Joshua 1:8....

Colorado begins wolf reintroduction plans OK'd by voters - ABC News (go.com)

Colorado voters narrowly approved Proposition 114 in November. It requires the reintroduction of the gray wolf, which was hunted, trapped and poisoned into extermination here in the 1940s, be underway by Dec. 31, 2023, on public lands in the sparsely populated Western Slope of the Continental Divide.

Great news for nature

Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Interpretation, the Lord does not command that you follow him, because he is content to follow you wherever you go and be your strength in a weary world

This seems to be completely opposite of what the Bible teaches.

To follow Jesus is commanded and expected, otherwise you are not sheep. It is the only way we learn that we can trust him, which is what that verse actually means.

True, but God also gave us free will.

Uhhh....
That wolf is going to return with some friends and eat you...

Their population is getting out of control and people are dying because of their numbers...they have lost their fear of man and that ain't a good thing.

Which is ironic because it's the ancestor of the dog.

Oh I smell a troll alright but it isn't him.

The wolf is not really the ancestor of the dog, only because dogs are actually mutated selectively bred wolves.

1 John 5:18.
18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

John 10:
4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

and

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
I think if you put your concept together with that of what "Alvertsky" said, you will arrive at the CORRECT answer.

John 14[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Mat. 26[20] ....and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

If you, yourself, do not have the Good Shepherd leading you, you will be a false prophet, claiming to be Christ, yourself.
Why does Joshua understand that the Lord follows me wherever I go, but you reject that people have free will to do the work of the Lord or not. Again Christ follows me, and he has promised to never leave me as long as I follow his teachings

You are free to be a following sheep. The Lord has other plans for me.

If you look around close enough you will see lost sheep, the moment you choose to lead one you become the shepherd

So will you leave the lost sheep lost? or lead the way[/Q

True, but God also gave us free will.

Yes, which is why even when we are dead to sin, Paul commands us to not quench the Spirit. And why in Romans 6 we can still choose to sin and become yet again a slave to sin, but with no more sacrifice.
Hebrews 10:26-31

Peter also warned us.

2 Peter 2:
20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
