A while back, I went on a spree to learn about God's remedies and the things he already put on the planet for us, like soap nuts, oils like myrrh and whatever else, and the miswak.

I learned about the miswak and how it was being used in Africa and how BEAUTIFUL and perfectly white the people's teeth were - despite not ever using a drop of Colgate. (Well run your products through EWG's database ... You'll end up throwing out half of it.)

I was terrified at first because it's considered an Islam thing, but turns out also for Jews and Muslims. Whatever, God made these things and doesn't care if I brush my teeth. I do not care what they are doing, I am not them.

Everything God made is good, and is meant to be gratefully used, not despised. The holiness or otherwise of a certain food, for instance, depends not on its nature but on whether it is eaten thankfully or not, It is consecrated by the man who has accepted the message, and thanks God for food.
-1 Timothy 4:4

For some people who don't know, it is a branch that usually comes from the salvadora persica tree. You scrape off the bark and then bite the end until it forms the bristly end. The taste goes away. This is believed to be the same tree that Jesus was speaking about in the parable of the mustard seed.

I've used one and need to get more, but it is better than what we have in the US and recommended by the CDC. (Not that that last part counts for anything.) I use it in part with Neem toothpaste and a bamboo toothbrush. It makes your teeth look like they were professionally cleaned.

Ignore the picture - that part is clickbait, but in the video you can see they have amazingly beautiful teeth.

Just as a bonus with that, another thing I found being soap nuts (berries) used for cleaning everything from floors, dishes, hair, etc.

This is how they make a shampoo from methi and soap nuts. Should grow the hair. (Methi = Fenugreek)

That’s cool. I think God provided everything we need for every problem. We are just so embedded with the culture of ease that we rely on what is sold to us. The skills of living off the land have been bred out of us. The abundance of modern culture does not necessarily bring happiness. Simplicity brings peace.

That's what I think, too, and I'm trying to find it. Americans have it too easy and it will fall back on us one day. So I've been looking at history, different cultures trying to figure out what we've used in the past and how to make due and doing really well without a lot from our standards. I believe that God already provided the majority of these things and maybe he doesn't like that his Christians are unknowingly being poisoned on a daily basis.

I've paid a lot of attention to vlogs and videos from India. One, because a lot of the homemakers seem more accustomed to being homemakers than we are today - women are trying to do ALL of the things - and their motherly advice has helped me considerably. (Including learning how to use cornstarch to starch the dresses)

Two, because they have some resourceful DIYs that I wouldn't ever consider to be a possibility. (Americans would probably never think enough to make a broom from soda bottles or mops from old t-shirts.)

Three, there's so many variations of turning rice and beans into a feast, or how to grow sprouts from dried chickpeas and lentils, and I've needed that LOTS of times. Also because mattar paneer is my favorite food just ever. ...Ever. *ever*

It works awesome! Learned a lot on the way about things I didn't need.

Btw, clear skin guaranteed = 50% water, 50% white vinegar as a toner. Pass on to the world.

Wish I knew that years ago when I was struggling. Could have saved a lot of money... Like a lot. Cleared up cystic acne in a few days and it's probably like $0.10. Now I try to tell everyone.:D

They don't use any toothpaste, just water and the brush. They're also not taking in any processed foods, which contributes to our decay, and I'm assuming they're not opposed to organ meats and have access to raw milk. Diatomaceous earth can be used for any tooth infections and for brushing.

I use the miswak AND Neem with a bamboo brush. (Essential oils and it's flouride free.) I like what the miswak does but I need that freshness. lol

I hope your teeth are in good shape and sparkly clean......I hope you keep them that way in the coming years particularly as the brow of the hill is behind you. Simplicity is a friend when beauty is in the innocent and the present.
