Does anyone even believe there is a devil anymore? Or do most people today believe that to be aware of him is well enough?

I thought about this just this weekend, because from time to time we come into direct contact with him in a very real way ourselves. Or when someone is possessed or oppressed and we pass it off as mental illness or something for a doctor to treat not even thinking it could possibly be a demon.
I realize with all the self-help sermons or marketing motivational speeches clothed in spirituality used to convince us that we need to bring more people through the door $$$. Sometimes there is little time left to address other issues like this one here that you may be confronted with one day.

What do you think about this subject? I attached a video of my experience with it. It’s not the sum total of what I know or have experienced, but I thought I would share here where it started for me. Anyway curious to know what others have been taught or not and maybe your experience with it.

The devil is like a chihuaha with no gums to a believer. We have complete authority over the devil and demons as believers, in Jesus Name!

More often then not though, seems like believers do not know their authority or how to exercise it. I didn't for the longest, but I am not afraid of them anymore.

I don't want to open any doors for oppression from the enemy. Sin is what opens doors.

My thoughts on it now are way different then they used to be.

The Screwtape Letters is a brilliant perspective on considering the Devil and demons. I believe it is very relevant. What I have found is Satan is dealing with people according to their preconceived notions. Most Americans have little belief in the spiritual realm, so I believe Satan would keep them ignorant and "tame", lacking the faith for God to act and demonstrate His power in any supernatural way. I lived in another culture where they believed that God spoke to you through visions and dreams. Consequently, we saw many people come to faith after having a vision or dream of Jesus or of another Christian. On the negative side, we saw people deceived by false visions (which could have been from demons).

We had another people group in that country that believed in spirits as a part of their superstition. Among that people group, it was common to see demon possession and we actually saw a situation where a believer asked for help for their unbelieving family member and the demon spoke to a Christian that came to pray for them. When the demon was cast out, the Christian warned the person if they did not replace the demon with Christ, it could happen again. A few months later, just like in the story from the Bible, the non-believer became possessed again, this time by multiple demons. These kind of experiences are common in cultures where the belief in spirits and the demonic is high.

In the US, there are also some churches (as mentioned above) where the belief in spirits and supernatural intervention is strong. It is also stronger in parts of the country where people have more superstitions. A caution for those who lean this way, Satan will tempt you according to this. I have seen well meaning Christians who "see demons under every bush" and I believe get distracted from other, more significant issues.

All believers should strive to fill their lives with Christ and encourage other believers to do likewise. Moving consistently into a closer relationship with Christ will help us to avoid getting off track and keep our focus where it should belong, on Him. We may have opportunities to pray for healing, to cast out demons and to experience the supernatural, but the core of our faith is on simpler things, which are accessible for all believers.

Anyone who believes God's word obviously believes satan is real Mark. No doubt demon possession if very real, and likely more prevalent now since satan and the demons have been cast here and are roaming the earth exclusively.

It was interesting today as I was listening to something where cops are dealing with more psychotic behavior in there calls. They were saying it as it is becoming a job now that they literally don't know what to expect when they show up for a call. But I thought yep I believe people are giving themselves over through drugs or mental illness trying to live this life apart from the Creator I believe we will all see demon possessed folks, but most won't believe it they will just think the behavior is just a result of something else not demon. Satan and his minions will be walking among us soon enough. Just a radom side thought, what do you think?

Demons are simply lying spirits coming from the one spirit of lies called "Legion" (many) or Lucifer (false light) the one spirit which apposes the truth of God as it is written . They accuse the sons of God. . . believers day and night.

In that way we are to let God be true and every man needed to spead his lies a liar.

He having no voice of his own. . . legion is the master of illusion. For instance in the foundation or garden the fall.

legion saying, Did God not seen say you shall die? ? ?. . . believe him not, you will surely not die. Look at me (Sssss) and live. Devil cannot be seen but they're formed of fire or flames, I was experience it while I slept and there's a flame around my head and my whole body. It works like a magnet, it can twist your head and pulling your thought into an evil wishperer. Then it put something inside my head as a torment to my brain (right brain & amygdala) and always tried to take over my consciousness, you can't drive them out with prayer but it can be healed by the bread of life of holy communion or by communal prayer when Holy Spirit of God came. I think the devil is always work together with witchcraft, as freemasonry also used them to initiate their new member to ride the goat or in biblical term called as circumcision or pass thru fire ritual.
Their works is to defile our mindly tongue, where the tongue is the center of our weakness as a man (James 3:1-12; Isaiah 6:4-5; Isaiah 5:18-24; Proverbs 17:4), because the tongue of a mind is uncontrollable when the devil tempted your mind. They who controlled by devil their words were like a fiery darts to our soul and provoke a rage, so Psychological Warfare & Gaslighting is the factual works of the devil to destroy our character. They who put a non-sense or ridiculous things as a majority problem is the people who captivated by devil, similar to Judges 12:6 how could they legalized a murder only by the mis-spelled of a single alphabeth ?

Now after all of these experiences realize that most of what happened was just playing around in the darkness, and entertaining the dead spirit that had not been awoken inside.

Personally do believe that Satan, and his Angels and those who’s name were not found in the book of life, from all those who came out of hell/she’ol went to the lake of fire, and were judged at the white thrown is done and over with.

So Satan in my view no longer roams around, anymore.

What does still linger is that of the darkness of man/woman’s mind; man/woman’s heart; and the wiles of the darkness of our imagination and living by our own self-will without God, leaves a person unable to understand the spiritual things of God.

The reason we as humans don’t fully understand things other than by man/woman’s wisdom, or even the wisdom of the rules of this age, or wisdom of kings of this age, or the wisdom of the world.

Is because of not being born again by the spirit of God. When this happens our whole life is changed by the Lord Jesus Christ which whom gives the spirit which comes from His Father.

I don’t believe Satan roams around anymore, or demons, nor demonic possession (which could be cause from the imagination of our worldly understanding), (look at Hollywood movies and how many superstitious - possessed dolls, people, murders, killers, rituals, sacrifices -> these do happen still today in real life by the corruption of the mind.

The only solution to have a renewed mind, renewed heart spiritually restored is to look towards the Lord Jesus Christ - which the Father picks us up out of the darkness and transfers us into the Kingdom of the Son. (Colossians 1:10-18?) Somewhere in there.

Jesus said, those who believe "will cast out demons" And I assume it was not meant in an ambiguous way. Now, it doesn't mean that every person will encounter the opportunity, but it does mean as believer you are able. No sense for that statement if it did not serve a purpose.
Jesus gave us examples, Jesus gave power to his disciples to command evil spirits (evil spirits/demons interchangeable words in the new testament) when He sent them out. And after Jesus ascended his followers cast out demons as written in the scriptures. Others who have commented here have had experiences as believers. And like it or not, or believe it or not before the end demonic oppression and possession will become very evident.

When folks question Jesus supremacy of power and substitute it with their own anecdotal evidence it is really not much different then what hollywood makes up. Both want to deny the reality of the devil's work in the earth in some folks lives by trying to make it sound like it is not real/or make believe only for the movies. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

You are right, You have a good day thank you for your response my friend and May God give the increase, and may we know that we are justified by faith through grace which is of God and not our selves, that we can be thankful to the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for their wonderful plan of reconciliation of God to mankind. So that if anyone believes they can have access to the Father through the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ and have a newness of life in compared to the old life.

I found your comment interesting. Slightly different thought, but yes the devil can enter through our thoughts if we entertain them, it can lead to desire and then sin. One we open yourself up to sin you open yourself up to the devil having a foot hold in your life.
I know the times I been tormented in my life. You wake up with the plaguing thoughts of anxiety, but I am sure when it doesn't depart something is not right between me and God (sin) and something now is standing in the way of my peace with God. Find it, repent and resist it if that applies and the plague to mind goes is gone. The demons/principalities/power I am sure waiting for a more opportune time.

Yup that's correct, but you will noticed that devil tempt our mind using all electronic media including tv, social media, etc to draw our attention out of our inner peace. As from those mainstream media your mind is being attacked or entertained by others as an "entertainment ball" to provoke your anger, if you get provoked then the devil will crush your brain or your chest into a tightness and a stronger whisper from inside your right brain. Another symptoms when you draw near God everyday you will become heavier and bored to hear repetitive verses (James 4:7), it means the demons are getting uncomfort with it then it will force your desire to overreacting by overeating, over sexually driven, or something of your fav things to do that opposite with the scriptures.
It will made your life as a roller coaster or as a sine wave, when you're becoming righteous in God then it will force your mind to sin but when you fall apart it will leave you and Holy Spirit will rise you back to life, then it will tempt your mind over and over again.

I would be careful with the idea of interpreting dreams. It could become an alternative source of faith. (Did God really say?)

Dreams are used to heal our human psychic nothing more and nothing less .

God is no longer bringing any new prophecy after any manner.

Fire or flames. . things seen are used in two way judgment or cleansing, purifying. We do not know Christ after the temporal things seen. We have the perfect will the whole Bible with no spiritual laws like the one below by which we could know him more intimately .Search the scriptures not dreams.

2 Corinthians 4: 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Once we apply the 20/20 prescription above then we can rightly divide the parables that reveals the mysteries.

When did God give man permission to change the structure and foundation of His Church...
God set in His Church Apostles, Prophets, Preachers, Teachers and Evangelists.....
He had a reason and a purpose in establishing His church with the 5 offices...He hasn't changed it and intends to restore His Church in the same manner as it was since the Day of Pentecost.
If God didn't give man permission to change what He established then why are you doing it?
I am sure it is quite offensive to Him that some preacher decided we didn't need the 5 offices anymore....AS IF!!! who does that person think he is...God?

I just listened to your video...right on point brother. I am in complete agreement with what you have shared.
One thing He spoke to me is that He is restoring His church...but it won't be as it is with traditional churches, in a building. His church will be in backyards, front porches, living rooms, streets, anywhere that 2 or more are gathered together in His name, in one mind and one accord...in the unity of faith...and the Word will be preached and signs and wonders will follow the preaching of His Word....and as many who hear and receive it will be saved and added to the church.
One thing that has irritated me about churches is they say "invite someone to church who needs salvation"....
No...no, no, no....go out and preach the gospel to all ends of the earth and as many that hear it shall be saved and added to the church.
