Does not Christianity also teach that sanctification is a process by which we are delivered from the power of sin and that we can also walk in freedom (John 8:31-36) and victory (1 Corinthians 15:57) over sin (1 John 3:9, 1 John 3:6, 1 john 2:17)?
Not at all.
We are not "sanctified" over time. WE are "made righteous", instantly by the blood of Jesus = Born again.
Do you think you can be more "sanctified" over time, by your efforts to be good, then you were totally made Righteous the instant you were born again, if this has happened to you?
Sanctification is "Righteousness"., and all the born again are as Righteous as God's Righteousness that is "the Gift of Righteousness" that all the born again have become.
You have the typical Pentecostal-Charismatic doctrine of "sanctification is a process"....... that if we just live long enough and try hard enough, we can get there.
And of course that will never happen.
Here is the math.. You are a disciple if you are born again. You can never become more righteous then you became when you were born again.
So, the next step is to get your mind of faith in line with God's Grace, so that in this you have power to live a perfected discipleship.
The "walk of faith" is not to try to keep believing, but its to come into the RIGHT BELIEVING that is the right Mind of Faith.
The born again are already sanctified, we are already "new creations", but, our discipleship never perfects, until we learn what to believe so that our Minds are renewed to exist as "walking in the Spirit".
