"Love is kindled in a flame, and ardency is its life. Flame is the air which true Christian experience breathes. It feeds on fire... True prayer MUST be aflame." ~ E. M. Bounds
"We often have a tinted view of revival as a time of glory and joy and swelling numbers queuing to enter the churches. That is only part of the story. Before the glory and joy, there is conviction; and that begins with the people of God. There are tears of godly sorrow. There are wrongs to put right, secret things... to be thrown out, and bad relationships, hidden for years, to be repaired openly. If we are not prepared for this, we had better not pray for revival." -Brian Edwards
There are Divine Appointments you couldn't put together if you tried — when circumstances, people, and the Holy Spirit collide! ~ Melody Green
"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word DARKNESS on the walls of his cell." - C.S. Lewis
Proverbs 28:21: To show partiality is not good, Because for a piece of bread a man will transgress. What does that mean to you?

I had pondered this point many years ago. I was discussing the point with a friend who suddenly said, "but of course, he does not have the Holy Spirit indwelling, so is not able to understand Scripture, and the fact of his eventual demise", and he will therefore lie at every opportunity to further his cause.

As Dr. E. W. Bullinger said " don't look for Satan in the vice dens of the world, but in the Pulpit, where he can do the most harm"!

    Very...
"You know, we live in a day when we are more afraid of holiness than we are of sinfulness." - Leonard Ravenhill

    Amen!

This has more truth than we like to admit
"For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." 2 Corinthians 1:20 - 22
"People take salvation today in such a cold, formal, matter-of-fact, business-like sort of way, that it appears as though they are doing God an honor in condescending to receive His offer of Redemption. Their eyes are dry, their sense of sin absent; nor is there any sign of penitence and contrition... But oh, if there were conviction! if they came with hearts bowed down, yea! broken and contrite, came with the cry of the guilt-laden soul: "God be merciful to me a sinner!...
"Let us not glide through this world and then slip quietly out of it without having blown the trumpet loud and long for our Blessed Redeemer. At the very least, let us see to it that when the Devil gets news of our departure from the battlefield, he throws a thanksgiving party in hell." - C.T. Studd
Trying to do the Lord's work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you." --Corrie ten Boom
"We must face the fact that many today are notoriously careless in their living. This attitude finds its way into the church. We have liberty, we have money, we live in comparative luxury. As a result, discipline has disappeared. What would a violin solo sound like if the strings on the musician’s instrument were all hanging loose, not stretched tight, not ‘disciplined?’" A.W. Tozer

    I like Tozer! Thumbs up.
"God is looking for broken men who have judged themselves in the light of the cross of Christ. When He wants anything done, He takes up men who have come to the end of themselves, whose confidence is not in themselves, but in God." ~ H.A. Ironside
Lawlessness is not the absence of law, but the absence of the fear of God. It is the failure to acknowledge God as the only supreme Lawgiver and Judge. Pastor De Waay
"I want to help you decide that, by the power of God, you will not be ordinary." "God wants His people to be ablaze with Holy Ghost activity." ~ Smith Wigglesworth
"The world exercises dominion. The Christian serves, and thus he shares the earthly lot of his Lord, who became a servant. … God…has so ordered life that the world exercises dominion by force and Christ and Christians conquer by service." Detrich Bonhoeffer
"I desire to have both heaven and hell ever in my eye, while I stand on this isthmus of life, between two boundless oceans." ~ John Wesley
