    God's willingness to forgive.

Marks - but what about Hebrews 10:26, as Christophany referenced above? I mean, isn't ALL sin deliberate? What is the point at which "no sacrifice is left"? Yes, I sinned after tasting the truth, and it was deliberate - many times, on and off, for years. Then the conviction would hit, I'd...

    The Offense of the Cross

Serious, serious business. Be still, and know that I am God. OK, more to consider. Give the process over to Him and be patient. Wait. And trust the Counselor will lead at His pace.

    God's willingness to forgive.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there a point where God says "Enough!" and shuts the door on us, and will not accept another request for mercy and forgiveness for a sin(s) we keep falling to, despite our best efforts to turn from it\them? Or will he still find mercy in Himself for that person...

    The Offense of the Cross

Thank you stunnedbygrace, you must've posted a second before I did. What you posted has touched something in me, I believe through you from Him. Seriously. I will meditate on that tonight while waiting for sleep, listening to the crickets and tree frogs in the hayfield outside my bedroom...

    The Offense of the Cross

And to do that successfully, I have to accept the pain of His offense, and take the same stripes he took. Access to the Kingdom has a price. Then why is salvation presented so abundantly elsewhere in scripture as a free gift? God is not the author of confusion, so why is this still confusing...

    The Offense of the Cross

So, as always seems to be the case , it all narrows down to trusting God and waiting for His power to move us forward. Standing on His promise to provide the strength and direction we (I) do not inherently have. Sure has been a long wait so far, but He's God, He knows what He's doing and how...

    God's willingness to forgive.

Yeah, I know, it's been covered over and over, but still I want to put it out there to maybe get a fresh take on this? Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive his brother if that brother, having sinned against him, came and asked yet again, sincerely, for forgiveness from him. Jesus...

    The Offense of the Cross

farouk - that's difficult for me. It seems like just the kind of thing my "itching ears" would want to hear, a gift too wildly generous to bear thinking could possibly apply to a spiritual and moral dullard like me, but there's no denying, according to scripture, that this "Good News" is...

    The Offense of the Cross

I know I'll fall back tonight on the ridiculously simple prayer I've been tending to go to lately, and ask God to just please fix whatever it is that's wrong in me, to His satisfaction. And yepper, Episkopos, that's a scary prayer, but like you pointed out, it ain't about this here-and-gone...

    The Offense of the Cross

I gotta say, if sanctification is happening within me, it (at least in my case) is on one grand and intricately slow scale - probably due to coming to Christ at the age of 41 after a very sinful lifestyle up to that point, and having been raised in a particularly unbelieving family, followed by...

    The Offense of the Cross

OK, so you're saying salvation and subsequent sanctification, is truly like a birth, in that we pass through a tight and difficult stricture (our "time of testing?), and if we succeed in that passage, we emerge into an openness where a new freedom is gradually realized - and our new function, by...

    The Offense of the Cross

Maybe the apparent duality of the gospel message as presented in the bible is part of the problem - Jesus seems to say, "come to me, my yoke is easy, my burden is light, and you will find rest for your souls... only believe and you will be saved, my gift to you is free, without cost." Then you...

How to get free from anxiety!

Well, one thing that elicits anxiety in me are all the conflicting opinions of what the true gospel of Jesus really is, and how we are to respond to it; something God's Spirit, our councelor, the spirit of truth, one should fully expect to teach us. So why all the continual arguments...

    Spellcheck

Well, I do have spellchecker on my device, found it and turned it off. Hope that does it, thanks anyway...
