I want to become a prayer warrior as this is what God is calling me to. I will beg God to teach me how but any advice would help.

How do you get to the place where you are praying against principalities and strongholds and winning?

How do you get to the place where you're praying in the Spirit?

How do you know what to pray for and how to pray effectively?

Pray, fast, meditate. Find a quiet place and practice quieting your mind so that the world's transmissions cease interrupting you when you try to find the stillness and meditate.
Loose your attachments to your daily walk. Loose attention, concerns, for everything, when you seek to practice setting time aside to enter the temple room, the Tabernacle of peace where you and God are one.
His holy spirit is within you when you are redeemed in Christ.
He's always there leading you, guiding your steps.
It is said, prayer is when we talk to God. Meditating is when we listen to what he has to say.

Prayer Warriors have that open line of communication with the spirit.
When we learn to separate ourselves, our conscious attentions, from the voices of this world, that will seem to be really persistent when we start to practice meditating and entering the stillness, ("I have work tomorrow", "my bills are due").
But with practice it gets easier.
And then, when God needs you, he'll reach you so that you know his will. And you'll be ready to serve as he directs you to. And you'll know it's God, because you'll have discernment due to the practice that led you into the stillness where his voice is unmistakable.

God bless.

Ask for and receive the gift of tongues. It is the best gift for intercession. When you cannot put the burden of your heart into words, tongues provides the language to convey the mind of the Spirit to God in direct communication.

If you haven't received the gift, PM me, and I will show you the steps God showed me. As part of the prophetic ministry that I am associated with, I am recognised by the leader that I have a ministry of enabling seekers of tongues to be successful in strengthening their faith so that the Holy Spirit can flow out of them with a new prayer language.

Actually, here is a link to another forum where I have outlined the steps of faith, and these might help you.

When You are a prayer warrior, it is not "you" who are winning But the One who is in you. It is not by our own strength, in fact it is when we are weak that he Is strong. Take the Time to read the episode in Acts about the sons of Sceva (Acts 19:14ff) Also read Jude 1,especially verse 9.

There are many who are self proclaimed Prayer warriors and have done so out of Balaam's error and done so for gain, this is not How God calls you to this. Instead, he will show you His heart, and when He shows you his heart Prayer will overflow from you, and you will "pray without ceasing"... Seeing His heart will reveal your own brokeness and deficiency, so be ready for that, and be zealous and repent.

I hope this helps.... God Bless

In the body of Christ the whole is greater--far more powerful than the individual parts. So join a weekly small prayer group. Doing so will help you feed off of every else's faith. Individually, you can't just TRY to believe and "without faith it is impossible to please God." Our little weekly prayer group of 5-8 has witnessed many marvelous answers to prayer and has torn down strongholds. Secondly, learn how to "pray in the Spirit," that is, learn the art of Spirit-directed prayer in English. How? By laboring in prayer until you reach a spontaneous fluency in which you are no longer selecting the topics of your prayers. It took me 45 minutes to overcome the discomfort of labored prayer to reach that marvelous point. Because such prayer is Spirit-directed, there is no need to worry about whether you are praying according to God's will.

I want to become a prayer warrior as this is what God is calling me to. I will beg God to teach me how but any advice would help.

Start asking the Lord what He wants you to prayer for! For example: You ask Jesus Christ what He would like you to pray - then pray to the Father asking for what you were told to ask for and do it in "the name of Jesus Christ"

How do you get to the place where you are praying against principalities and strongholds and winning?

We all battle with the powers, principalities, and the dark forces of this world!! So almost any prayer (conversation with the Lord) has something to do with the battle! For example - if you pray for a friend going through a tough time - it is almost certainly a prayer against the darkness (evil spirits) of this world. That is the also the case if the person you are praying for is yourself.

How do you get to the place where you're praying in the Spirit?

Praying in the Spirit - or in "tongues' is actually a lot like asking Jesus Chris what you should pray for!! You do that and instead of listening for the words from the Holy Spirit to come to your mind you trust the Holy Spirit to just use your voice, so that you let what is on your heart (after you ask) just come out your mouth, no matter what comes out. It comes down to believing the Lord is there to answer you and use you, even if you don't know what He is doing. That takes a bit of trust - in that you are actually trusting Him to control your voice. You can also pray in tongues inside. That is you can ask Jesus Christ to have His Holy Spirit pray for what is needed and you can pick it up happening inside you.

Note: Jesus said He did and said only what the Father asked - thus He is the Word of God. So the question of becoming like Him means we take time to seek Him and trust Him with the words we say, Therefore, if you can trust Him to use your voice or communicate to your spirit via His Holy Spirit, even when you don't know what is being said, you can more easily trust Him for what to say when He starts asking you to say something in English when you don't know how it is going to workout.

PS - praying is tongues is a gift of the Spirit, therefore you are asking Jesus Christ to have His Spirit work through you, and trusting He will

How do you know what to pray for and how to pray effectively?

Again it does back to seeking our Lord Jesus Christ for what to pray for! That is: the Bible clearly explains we do not know how to pray as we should - therefore we ask our Lord Jesus Christ for what to pray - He then sends His Holy Spirit to communicate with our spirit - but are we going to believe in Him and trust Him to do that?

He works to help us trust more and more in Him - but that help might mean you have to even trust Him with the very words coming out of your mouth - even if they sound silly to you.

If God is truly calling you to this, then he will show you how so it's probably best not to seek other advice as you could become confused.

Have you watched the film called 'The War Room'? If not I suggest that you get the DVD.
But we are all different with our own unique relationship with our Heavenly Father. Listen to Him.

I fully agree, and wrote prior, that people need to seek the Lord - but have you not also read that the church is to edify.

1 Cor 14:26 What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

There are reasons for a Christian forum, and it has to do with assembly to help each other. Now the best advice, we the church, can have is to turn people to the Lord. Never-the-less, has not the Lord given gifts in which to help each other? If a person is confused from the advice, let that person seek the Lord. Still, "each one" has a psalm, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, and interpretation for the edification of the church.

Edification of course mean to teach in religious matters. If indeed His sheep hear His voice, then indeed they have heard something from Him. If indeed a person knows Him they have indeed experiences that came from knowing Him. Should then they not share? Is it not written that what you hear whispered in your ear, shout on the house tops. God has given us all things to share, and there is something written about us all knowing in part. How smart the Lord is that He should give us all parts, so we can share about Him and glorify Him.

Edification means building up, so it is good that we can edify each other on the forum, but a lot of what happens here is definitely not edifying.

Also if God is leading you to be a prayer warrior then I still think it is something that the Holy Spirit needs to guide you into - not people. Jesus says to do our praying in secret so that it's just between you and him.

Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Often when you share too much you can lose the anointing on what called you to.

edification
(ɛdɪfɪkeɪʃən)
UNCOUNTABLE NOUN [oft with poss]
If something is done for your edification, it is done to benefit you in some way, for example by teaching you about something.
[formal]
Demonstrations, films, and videotapes are shown for your edification.
Synonyms: instruction, schooling, education, information More Synonyms of edification

Yes - edification has to do with building others up, yet it has an instruction, teaching, providing information method - it is not just say to go seek Jesus to find out. However, it is the best advice to seek Jesus for teaching and advice, all though He (since we know Him) gives us information, teachings, education, and information to pass on to others!!!

Mat 10:27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

Note: that the above verse does not talk about "anointing" but simply about passing on what He tells you!!!!!!!!!!

Mark 6:11 “Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.”

Have we missed nor gotten any instructions from Him to go and speak, as He instructs? He sent people to speak to other people! To tell them to repent. To tell them that the Kingdom came close. And who was it that told those who wrote the bible to write? And did they not write what He told them.

Prov 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.

Yes - tell people to listen to Him, our Lord. But did He not also tell you bits of wisdom, so that you might pass on what you heard whispered in your ear?

He once told me:

“If you push water up, it flows back to you”.

“If you push water higher, it comes back as fresh water.”

“If you let it go, it will flow away to a salty sea.”

“If you spread it over a field things will grow.”

“So it is with the Word of God.”

If you still don't understand - the Lord gives you a word - a bit of wisdom - if you give it to somebody higher like say the pastor at your church, they should you should get a word they got coming back to you. If you take what He told you back to Him and ask Him questions about it He will give you a fresh word. If you don't do anything with what He told you, it will flow away from you and be lost to this world. If you spread what He tells you around it will cause others to grow.

So don't just tell people to go to the Lord, but also use what He whispered in your ear and pass it around - you will help others grow - at least they will unless the reject you - then you "shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.”

1 Corinthians 14:14 (NKJV)
14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

The verse quoted in the quote above is correct!! But often I see where people don't complete the line of thinking that Paul is putting forth - so they don't get the message Paul is saying! Too often I have seen people use 1 Cor 14:14 to conclude that we should not speak in tongues, but that is totally wrong!! The Spirit of God does not give useless gifts!! And Paul, even before the above verse clearly has stated to desire the gifts therefore even the gift of tongues, and indeed after Paul also makes it clear to not stop people from speaking in tongues - and this is context is for when the church assembles together!!

What Paul is clearly saying in the above verse is that - If he or anyone of us prays in tongues it doesn't help other people present understand what is being said. Now who cares if you are at home or are praying inside your spirit only, but it just adds confusion when everyone is gathered together, because other people don't know what is being said in the Spirit. The solutions to that is to get an interpretation for the congregation from the Holy Spirit!!

1 Cor 14:9 So also you, unless you utter by the tongue speech that is clear, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air.

1 Cor 14:13 Therefore let one who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.

Now look closely!! Who - according to the verse above is supposed to be getting the interpretation???

The person speaking in tongues is the very person who is supposed to get the interpretation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it is very easy to get the interpretation!!!!!!!!!!

All you have to do is ask our Lord Jesus Christ for the interpretation and listen to His small voice which comes in words, via the Holy Spirit speaking to your spirit!!

What I find amazing is the number of times I find where this (though clearly in the Bible) is mostly missed in the churches that I have been at!! I too often see where they think that if one person speaks in tongues then another person should be getting the interpretation. I'm not saying that couldn't be the case, but it shouldn't be the case - for two obvious reasons. One is the clear instruction in verse 1 Cor 14:13 - but the more obvious reason is that His sheep are supposed to be hearing His voice and seek Him!!!!!!!

I mean since I know the Lord and seek His voice I naturally seeking Him when I have questions - and are you not going to naturally have a question about what is coming out of your mouth when you are speaking in tongues??? I sure do! I want to have some idea of what is going on when the Holy Spirit has me speaking in tongues!!!

Now the Lord doesn't always give me a really specific answer. For example, there are some things I just don't need to know about others - and the Lord is not a gossip. So often when I ask the Holy Spirit what I am saying in tongues, He just tells me that I am praying for that person or persons, or that I am praying on a certain issue. Sometimes it get more accurate, and can even be a word for word interpretation. A couple of times, when I was singing in tongues and I asked, the song changed from being sung in tongue to instantly being sung in English. Once I even knew the song that I was singing when it went to English, but I had not recognized it because in tongue I happened to be singing in very slowly.

Think - we always have the Lord with us! Our problems are so often just because we don't ask Him and listen for what He has to say
