well this is a basic question, but i thought i'd post just to spark some discussion:what is- or was- the real appearance of jesus? (certainly not blonde hair blue eyes...and im sure we might have to go back through history's teachings herei believe because he was a hebrew, from jerusalem in nasareth, his complexion was a little mixed, not fully white not fully black..i've never read the whole bible yet,(dont know who has) but is there anywhere it mentions jesus' appearance?-or is it wrong to debate on such topics, because he was the holy one and that's all that matter's? i dont know..comments please, and some scripture

Jo marc is right poetboy I think this is by design no one can claim they look him so they are him. We arent consumed wasting time debating what he looks like because nobody knows. Your speculations are about all any of us have to go on. So there not alot to talk aboutSo we instead spend time upon his word.which is where he wants our attention.

The only part of the Word which gives a sort of description is in Revelation and only a symbolic one at that. We were not given one because we are not to make one. The ark,s description and many other things are given in great detail. Christs was purposely not. Does it matter, big time it matters if you make or worship a so called image of Christ. Satan says "dont be silly, it doesnt matter it is all about your heart" Images lead to idol worship.

Jewish, it gave a description of jesus in the bible, His ethnic background may not have actually been jewish, but something to whatever that description is he had brown thick hair, and was darker skinned.

Isaiah 532For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. or the NIV Say's it like thisHe grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. I believe that Jesus was probably very plain looking or unattractive or even what some would call ugly.If you think about it it makes perfect sense, at least to me it does, That God defeats Satan, who's sin was pride, as a man who had nothing in his appearance that we would desire him, as a truly humble man.

Great response John. I just looked up that scripture to post it, but you beat me to it. :blessyou: No one today really knows what Jesus looked like while here on earth, but I can't wait to see Him in His glorious state in Heaven. :angel9:
