Thanks for your response, so do we pray for satan ?
Would Jesus pray for satan? There is one “unforgivable sin”......that is sin against the Holy Spirit....the Bible mentions only a few who sinned against the Holy Spirit, by denying its source in their speech and conduct.
Satan most definitely fits that description having been an eye witness to all of God’s creation. As a creature with no inherent defect, his abuse of free will led him to rebel against his Creator, and he hijacked the entire human race to fulfill his own selfish desires. Satan set up his own kingdoms on earth, whilst God had only one....and he expected loyal obedience from those he accepted as his sons and daughters....even those who became his children by adoption.
Judas likewise, was not only a witness, but a receiver of Holy Spirit as the apostles performed miracles “in Jesus’ name”.....his remorse was not worth anything because no forgiveness was possible.
The Pharisees also were sentenced to “Gehenna” (eternal death) by Jesus himself because, as leaders of the people they deliberately spread false accusations against Jesus whose miracles they witnessed but could not refute.....they were worried about themselves and their cozy position under Roman rule (John 11:47-48)....instead they attributed his miracles to the devil. (Beelzebub. Matt 12:24)
So praying for God’s firmly entrenched enemies is futile....whereas praying for those deceived by satan is appropriate, since repentance is possible if God grants forgiveness based on Christ’s sacrifice. (John 6:65)
Those who fail to acknowledge their sin and who try to excuse it, and in turn disobey the Christ in the process, will not fare well. Forgiveness cannot be obtained by those who can’t see where or how they are sinning....and this topic is a good way to tell the genuine Christians from the pretenders with blood on their hands. (Isa 1:15) Their political loyalties shine through and cancel out their spiritual loyalties.
Patriotic sentiments have no place in the life of a Christian whose citizenship is in a whole other Kingdom...not one on this earth. The kingdom we fight for is with spiritual weapons and spiritual armor with the backup of the most powerful force in the Universe.
The prophesy in Malachi 3 concerning God’s day of judgment will apply....
“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name. “They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” (Mal 3:16-18 NSAB)
God already knows those who “esteem his name” (Yahweh/Jehovah) and he has identified those who serve him, and separated them from those who don’t....those who place serving the interests of their own country first. Patriotism has no place in the life of a Christian. We are not citizens of any nation, before we are citizens of God’s Kingdom. A divided loyalty is no loyalty at all.
“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Cor 5:20 NASB)
The apostles called themselves “ambassadors for Christ” Ambassadors do not meddle in the politics of the nations they are sent to....Christianity is not a Middle Eastern religion.....it is a global faith.
Those who would serve their own nation first, will find that they have no place in the one they give only lip service to.
We are to be servants of God by seeking reconciliation with Him through obedience....and helping others to do the same.
