The snake even slithered right next to his foot! This is interesting. @Riven @Armour of God @Jay Ross

I was thinking of starting a thread called
"Meanwhile in Australia" Hehehehe :Laughingoutloud:
Or "Only in Australia"

Showing stuff like this to freak out all you American and Poms and everyone else.
Hehehehe :jest:

But seriously did you see how it reacted when it was released. Ohh man they're very aggressive snakes, you don't want to mess with them :shockedx

When it comes to venom toxicity, the top 4 in the world are all Aussies. The brown snake is most common, often found in suburbs.

Good idea...I can post all of the creepy crawlers you have there. LOL

Yes it was aggressive...kept coming at him.

I watch a young guy in South Africa who removes snakes from homes and gardens. When he releases them back to the wild, they just slither away.

some of them snakes have such deadly venom indeed .
And can easily take the life of a man and quickly .
But t here is a serpent that is far deadlier and far more dangerous to mankind .
And through its ecumeincal venom will entrap and take all to the day of their own destruction .
Just a friendly reminder to us all . If a snake bite a man it is true that it can kill a man . but it cannot kill the soul .
But another serpen t will do all to keep one from coming to THE ONLY ONE
who can save the soul . And that serpent , he is a real clever one indeed .
JESUS KEEPS HIS SHEEP safe f rom that one . To the trenches one and to the trenches all .
For as hard as this might seem to be to beleive , WE are much farther along than folks now realize .
And the end will come and it will come in a day and in an hour known to no man
As for the sheep we shall forever be with HE who has saved us and kept us . Line them walls my friends .

The fatality rate from snake bites in Australia is very low ... 1 or 2 a year ... more people die from car accidents involving kangaroos.

That is low. Here in Southern California we recently had a few people die from Rattlesnake bites.

wow...that's low when you have the deadliest snakes There are approximately 5 deaths per year from venomous snake bites in the United States, out of roughly 7,000 to 8,000 people who are bitten. There are around FIFTY THOUSAND deaths per year in India

Speaking of the black mamba, it blows my mind how it's venom can kill a lion and even an elephant, but not a 30-pound honey badger, who has a very high tolerance for snake venom. After being bitten, they end up taking a 2–3-hour nap and wake up to live on. They are also fearless and very hard to kill.

Yea in Australia only 2 or 3 deaths a year from snakes and 3,000 are bitten. But take the populations into account. Australia only has 25M people, America has over 330M people.
So if we had America's population there would be many more snake bites and deaths.
Or if America had Australia's population there would be much fewer deaths

50k in India. I had to fact check that and your right. That's insane, even with a population of over a billion.

Australia has a bad reputation for having dangerous animals but it's blown way over proportion. I like to just play along to make you guys think we're crazy down under. :bigCeeze

I read that India has the highest number of snakebite deaths globally, accounting for roughly 40,000 to 50,000 fatalities annually. The vast majority of these bites and deaths are caused by a group of highly venomous species collectively known as the "Big Four".

They would have fewer hospitals and less anti venom I reckon in India compared to Australia or the USA. They also have a massive population. But those snakes are very dangerous indeed, they claim many more lives that any other

It was so far from her in his little box spring home. Would that Eastern Brown really have hurt her?
He didn't for all the time he was there before.

I like spiders and snakes.

I like spiders and snakes.
But what if he felt the need for some warmth and crawled under the covers alongside her?!!! :confused

Do you ever wonder about those snake charmers in India? They work with Cobras. I wonder if they milk their venom a lot or defang them?

They're defanged.

A friend went to India a few years ago. Their guide had arranged for them to "meet" real Cobras.

They were huge. The snake owner had yanked their fangs right before he got in his vehicle to bring them to us.

I felt horrible. The one largest Cobra was clearly in shock. Venom and what I call saliva was pouring out of her mouth. She's just looking for some place to hide.

Which happened to be under my Kaftan. Because I was sitting on the floor waiting for the owner to come in with snakes in cases.
No. He sets the cases outside the door on the porch, with the case openings lined up even with the wide door frame, and opens the cases at nearly the same time.

Here comes this huge Cobra moving back and forth, eyes glazed,in shock, venom and saliva streaming. And heads right for me. I'm crosslegged on the floor. The kaftan was large and like a tent over my knees and legs. Dark and the perfect hiding place.

Wow what a story!!! A Cobra under her kaftan!!!

That is cruel them defanging those Cobras.

I am subscribed to this young man snake catcher in South Africa. He relocates all sorts of venomous snakes from homes and gardens. He is a cheerful and nice young man so I like to watch his videos.

Cobra under outdoor toilet.

This one was a very precarious capture...was holding my breath that he wouldn't fall in that garden.

What a cruel thing to do, to defang a snake is like taking teeth from a tiger or wings from a bird. It's an inhumane practice
