Won't so many be surprised what the bible actually says the first time they hear it.. It would be great if the Holy Spirit began to work on the crowd of "never read the bible" people. Romans 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.Plans set for the entire Bible to be read in honor of the USA’s 250 Anniversary.

Wow! You mean people have to pay to hear God’s word read aloud by people who matter to America?Plans set for the entire Bible to be read in honor of the USA’s 250 Anniversary.

Just as Ezra read the Word aloud to the people of Israel (Nehemiah 8:1–3), awakening revival and repentance, inspiring them to rebuild the temple, and working with Nehemiah to mobilize the people to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, America Reads the Bible is a sacred opportunity to call our nation back to its spiritual foundations. Through a public, continuous reading of the entire Bible in our nation’s capital by our national leaders from all spheres of influence, we believe God can spark revival in individual hearts and inspire Americans to carry the Word forward in their lives and communities into the next 250 years of our national story.Plans set for the entire Bible to be read in honor of the USA’s 250 Anniversary.

I don't know, all these externals. They seem very suspect coming from a Nation which attempts to hone its image at every turn.Just as Ezra read the Word aloud to the people of Israel (Nehemiah 8:1–3), awakening revival and repentance, inspiring them to rebuild the temple, and working with Nehemiah to mobilize the people to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, America Reads the Bible is a sacred opportunity to call our nation back to its spiritual foundations. Wait,I don't know, all these externals. They seem very suspect coming from a Nation which attempts to hone its image at every turn.
God doesn't care for image. He see the heart, dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.
The US of A has for decades exported its 'democracy'. It has put forward an image of the ideal society even while invading other countries and forcing them to bow the knee.Wait,
You think it is "suspect" for those we choose to lead us and represent us, that it is somehow "suspect" that they read the Bible to the Nation they serve?
I don't understand what your saying.
I know it sounds good at first, but seriously, who is realistically the is going to listen for 7 solid days of just reading the Bible? I could think of nothing more boring to those unacquainted with the Bible to sit and listen to something so foreign to them. Foreign nations, foreign times, foreign activities….unfamiliarity will kill it.Just as Ezra read the Word aloud to the people of Israel (Nehemiah 8:1–3), awakening revival and repentance, inspiring them to rebuild the temple, and working with Nehemiah to mobilize the people to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, America Reads the Bible is a sacred opportunity to call our nation back to its spiritual foundations.
That is not the way God has prophesied for things to play out in this time of the end....Jesus separates the “sheep from the goats” and deals with each group as the Bible says he will. Being in one category or the other is a matter of people’s choices.Through a public, continuous reading of the entire Bible in our nation’s capital by our national leaders from all spheres of influence, we believe God can spark revival in individual hearts and inspire Americans to carry the Word forward in their lives and communities into the next 250 years of our national story.
You got that right. No Christian can celebrate genocide as if doesn’t matter to God.

I don't understand what your saying.
I bet Trump will be reading in public backed up by Paula.

How is it not the same for the indigenous population of America?
What are they celebrating really?
How did Jesus ensure that the people of his day (his fellow Jews) heard the word of God? He sent his disciples out to the people, but he trained them first. He didn’t tell them to just read God’s word to them....the message was explained to them. They were preachers but also teachers. (Matt 28:19-20)How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Since we are told to be “no part of the world” ruled by the devil, (John 18:36; 1 John 5:19) there can be no “Christian” politicians. We live in the world, but we are to have no say in its governance. Following the example of Jesus and his first century disciples, who were under Roman domination, Jesus never once told his people to resist the Roman rulers in any way, but to be law abiding citizens, so as not to create unnecessary conflict with those rulers....in spite of the fact that they were oppressing his people....and he had the power at his disposal to wipe them off the planet. Now I am NOT saying that any of our politicians are preachers. We can agree on that RIGHT?
And in this day and age, there is no excuse for that. People don’t want to read the Bible and we can largely thank the education system for that. Who was it who introduced science as a replacement for the Creator? The majority of people in this country or the world for that matter have not actually heard the bible read aloud.
It’s not about being a bad thing.....it’s about how it is presented...to whom....and who is actually profiting from this event. $500 dollars for a ticket?! Why was it not broadcast to all without cost and without restrictions? Realistically, who is going to listen to 7 days of just Bible reading?I don't see how reading God's Word to the world is a bad thing.
But then this world has totally deteriorated over the last decade, so I guess I'm not surprised anymore.
That dark road is not travelled by Christ’s disciples...their hands are not bloodstained. (Isa 1:15)This world is heading down a dark road. And I am glad that our Representatives are trying to shed some LIGHT on the matter.
Where will I find that in the Bible?God Bless America!
