"Prepared as the Bride ..."It's a metaphor, (a simile), meaning beautiful, pure, eternal.
After the Great Tribulation ( a 3.5 year period coming soon), during which time good and evil will be separated and Jesus will appear to take His church, there will be a Millennial Kingdom, a time of peace, love, harmony like never before. Then at the end if it, a final short upheaval, when Satan is released and evil will be put down forever. The Great White Throne Judgment takes place. Hades and all unbelieving souls who were sentenced to this underworld prison awaiting their execution are finally thrown in the Lake of Fire. Death itself will be destroyed along with the 1ST heavens and 1ST earth in a universal cataclysmic event ( 2 Peter 3:10). Everything will burn up. All former things will oass away. Then the (New Heaven on Earth called the New Jerusalem) will replace it.
We must realize this is a spiritual dimension, so the physical universe will no longer exist. There will be no sun and moon, no darkness, just light from God in this wonderful realm. The natural beauty you see in the world now has defects. From a distance it looks lovely but as you look closer you see the flaws in everything and everyone. The New Jerusalem looks like earth, only without the flaws. Of course parts of it are not, streets of gold, pearly gates, giant wals madebif lrecious stones a d the Throne of God and the presense of God. But still much will be familiar. You will see lakes rivers, mountains, valleys, botanicals, animals, etc., a familiar creation and environment. God would not put us in some competely different reality. We will recognize what we see, only it's more colorful, beautiful, pure love radiating through everyone for eternity.

Jerusalem is the heart of God, New Jerusalem is the new heart of God, which is the Bride of Christ. Which comes down (metaphorically) from heaven as the spirit of God born (again) in that new heart of those who are His, born of the spirit of God.

Corporately we come, which is the "city." Which is a great mystery now revealed: Just as we all come into Time "but each one in his own order", and likewise all leave Time-- we also all came "from" God’s eternity at once (together in Adam), we also return at once (together in Christ)--"but each one in his own order according to the times of this world.

The city of Jerusalem is the actual Bride of Christ. But God's Word also uses that idea as a 'metaphor' regarding true worship for God's people that remain faithful waiting for Jesus to return. See Isaiah 54 and 2 Corinthians 11 about the "chaste virgin" and God as our True Husband ideas.

New Jerusalem is a glorious city in which God's people dwell, and thus the city itself is equated to the people:

Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.
2Ch_6:6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
Psa_125:2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
Isa_52:9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
Isa_65:18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isa_65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

A city devoid of people is nothing. It is truly the people that make a city.

An idea that some JEWS intentionally omit about future Jerusalem is the RETURN OF THE TEN LOST TRIBES BY CHRIST WHEN HE RETURNS TO JERUSALEM TO REIGN WITH HIS CHURCH OVER ALL NATIONS.

As I have shown before, the Orthodox Jews want the world to think that they only... represent God's chosen Israel. That is simply NOT true per history, nor per God's written Word. The Jews represent ONLY the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi. All the other tribes of Israel, ten of them, were scattered APART from the Jews by God, and LOST, even as it is still today. But the ten tribes ARE NOT LOST to God. He knows where He scattered the majority of the ten lost tribes, and who they are today.

And you can know where too, IF... you simply quit listening to deceived Jews and instead get into our Heavenly Father's Word which reveals it.

This New Jerusalem is heavenly, not earthly, for it comes down “out of heaven from God.” (Revelation 21:2, 9, 10) Compare Ephesians 5:24-27. Therefore, this city does not consist of literal streets and buildings.

It consists of the 144,000 anointed members of the “bride” class-“the Lamb’s wife.” (2 Corinthians 11:2; Revelation 14:1-5; 21:1-3, 9-27). When on earth, they are told that their “citizenship exists in the heavens” and that their hope is to receive “an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance.” “It is reserved in the heavens for you….” -1Peter 1:4; Philippians 3:20.

As “partakers of the heavenly calling” (Hebrews 3:1), they are assigned by God as “heirs” in union with Christ, through whom God purposed “to gather all things together again.” “The things in the heavens,” that is, those called to heavenly life, are the first to be thus gathered into unity with God through Christ. (Ephesians 1:8-11) Their inheritance is “reserved in the heavens.” (1Peter 1:3, 4; Colossians 1:5; compare John 14:2, 3.) They are “enrolled” and have their “citizenship” in the heavens.-Philippians 3:20.

Sin corrupts the sinner and everything associated with him, hence this entire universe will eventually be disposed and replaced (Revelation 21:1-8).

"Jerusalem" is an English rendering of Hebrew ירושלים, which has the etymology "City of Peace." It is an ancient city, spanning over 5000 years.

The Jews rebelled in 70 A.D., and the Romans destroyed Jerusalem, along with its temple.

God will bring the Jews back (Ezekiel 11:17, Jeremiah 29:13-29). This is in progress.

New Jerusalem, coming down from heaven to the new earth, is depicted in Revelation 21:2.

The OLD Jerusalem…
Was the Seat of Governance of king Davids Throne.

Jerusalem since king David has had Multiple governing Heads of State.

The “Throne”, never disappeared, simply had different sitting Heads of State.

God established the “Throne” and called it “Everlasting”.

Men changed that throughout History.
God shall “change Corruption, Restore the City of Jerusalem and its Throne into a Glorious City and Throne, never Again to be Corrupted.”

2 Sam 7:
[13] He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
[14] I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
[15] But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
[16] And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
[17] According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

The NEW Jerusalem is The Restored City (void of Corruption), where the Everlasting Throne is Located.

>Is the bride of Christ the Church or new Jerusalem? Or Christian followers?>

IMO:
o Believers are presented as a chaste "virgin" (i.e. bride, 2Corinthians 11:2).
o New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:9) is the "bride" since it houses believers.
o These are figures of speech, expressing a relationship.

New Creation.

The way it was supposed to be.

Where God is no longer distant, but lives with His people; where humanity is beautifully righteous and holy; and where death and suffering are no more.

Siddhi Koli asked: "Bride of Christ."

IMO:
Jesus is the bridegroom (Ephesians 5:25-27), which indicates that believers are the bride.

It's a figure of speech. Jesus will *never* forsake any believer (Deuteronomy 31:6, repeated in Hebrews 13:). He remains faithful, throughout our ups and downs.

The *people* in the New Jerusalem are the bride. I suppose the physical city itself could be called the bride, in the sense that it is so beautiful.

Hello Mark-
I take it you are a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion. (Jw)
The above is incorrect if we read the bible instead of the JW literature-
According to the Watchtower (JW) I quote-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WATCHTOWER 12/15/91 - REJOICE IN THE KINGDOM HOPE
"17 If that is your hope, contemplate also the joy of sharing in restoring Paradise on the earth. (Luke 23:42, 43) No doubt the Armageddon survivors will help to clean up the earth and thus provide pleasant locations where dead ones will be resurrected. Funerals may be replaced by welcoming sessions for those brought up in the resurrection, including our own loved ones who have gone down into death. And think of the enriching fellowship with faithful men and women from past centuries. Whom do you especially want to talk to? Is it Abel, Enoch, Noah, Job, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Rahab, Deborah, Samson, David, Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, or John the Baptizer? Well, then, this delightsome prospect is also part of your hope. You will be able to converse with them, learn from them, and work together with them in making the entire earth a paradise."

End quote.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But what does Jesus/bible teach about where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will be?

Matthew 8:11
“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;

Luke 13:28
In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.

Hebrews 11:8-16

8By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; 10for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 11By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. 12Therefore there was born even of one man, and him as good as dead at that, as many descendants AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN IN NUMBER, AND INNUMERABLE AS THE SAND WHICH IS BY THE SEASHORE.
13All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. 14For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. 15And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

Rev 21:1-8
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
5And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” 6Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. 7“He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. 8“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

----
There is no other hope - Kingdom of God/heaven is the New Jerusalem -the city prepared which comes down from heaven to earth.
New heavens/new earth.
Your WILL be done-- On earth as it is in heaven! Heaven and earth become one.

Matt 7:22-23
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ / Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’

Rev 21:8
But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

Rev 21:15
But outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Rev 20:15
And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

I would not say "the way it was supposed to be". That sounds like plan B-as if we messed up God's plan, so He made an adjustment to his plan. (no offense- but that is Jw speak)
God has always known and prepared this for us from before the foundation of the world. This will be far better than Adam had it. We can't even imagine it.

IMO:
This holy city new Jerusalem appears in the new heaves and earth. "Prepared as a bride" indicates "pure and beautiful."

Sin corrupts the sinner and everything associated with the sinner, hence this entire universe must first be disposed, then recreated, and repopulated.

This is analogous to buildings, cars, clothes, houses, etc. They wear out, and a certain amount of time it makes more sense to dispose and replace.

"Jerusalem" has the etymology "city of peace."

New heavens, new earth for the bride of Christ (i.e. Christian believers).
