This is not stated anywhere in Scripture it would literally go against what God said He would not alter His words Psa89:23 not a jot or tittle Mat5:18 and editing His commandments that He wrote

There is more than one rest in Scripture. There are two different rest being spoken of in Heb 4 and we see this plainly in the Greek definitions.

The rest being referred to in days of Joshua was the land full of milk and honey and they were given this land on the condition if they love God with all their heart, mind and soul and feared God and kept His commandments? Did that happen? What reason did God give that they could not enter?

Jos 1:13 Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.

This is God speaking why they could not enter:

And why in the NT we are told plainly not to follow in the same example of disobeyed to enter into our promise land

So my distinction is not: “one law for Jews and another for Gentiles.”

My distinction is: “How do Christ and the apostles apply covenant obligations within the new covenant church?”

So I do not dispute that Sabbath participation continued prominently among Jewish believers and even many Gentile God-fearers during that era.

Where I still hesitate is moving from historical continuity and practice to concluding that the apostles universally bound seventh-day observance upon all Gentile believers as a covenant requirement under the new covenant.

That is the distinction I have been trying to maintain throughout the discussion.

They did not fully understand the DEPTH of their writings

When you read the Scriptures, place aside who the earthly authors were and SEE it as One Book and One Author

When you do, even more will come to you from the Holy Spirit = as you believe every word

KNOW this -
#1 - CHRIST came and fulfilled the law on our behalf, for none of us ever could = Acts 15:10
#2 - CHRIST established One Covenant/One Law for both Jew & Gentile as is commanded in the Law of Moses = Exodus 12:43-51

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover: No foreigner shall eat it. 44But every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then he may eat it. 45A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat it. 46In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones. 47All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48And when a stranger dwells with you and wants to keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as a native of the land.
For no uncircumcised person shall eat it.
49One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.”

#3 - There is only One Body of Christ made up of Jew & Gentile that is in Christ
Ephesians chapter 2 & chapter 4

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances,
so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

@David in NJ, thank you for the thoughtful and gracious response. I agree completely that there is one body in Christ, one Spirit, one Lord, and one salvation for both Jew and Gentile.

I also agree that Scripture must ultimately be read as one unified revelation centered in Christ.

Where I still wrestle with the issue is not whether Jew and Gentile are one in Christ but how the apostles applied covenant practice within that unity under the new covenant.

For example, even within that unity, the apostles still had to address questions involving circumcision, food laws, table fellowship, and Gentile inclusion throughout Acts, Romans, and Galatians.

So my ongoing question has not been whether Gentiles belong fully to the people of God. I absolutely believe they do.

My question remains how the New Testament itself applies Sabbath observance covenantally within that one body under Christ.

Acts is the transition period from the OT to the NT which brought in the Gentiles to be One with the Jews who came to MESSIAH

Even the apostles had to convene to discuss the OT prophecies as it applied to the NT in Christ.
The KEY was/is their submission to Christ, Prayer and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit = who then inspired them just as the OT prophets.

Therefore, Today, we have the Greatest amount of Revelation in the Holy Scriptures = but it can only be unlocked by the Holy Spirit

We can intellectualize all day long with SDA, RCC and so on..............but it is only thru faith in the Word and the Holy Spirit that reveals these things to us.
