I am liking gospel music at the moment. In fact I think this may be coming back. Especially the blues roots black American gospel and soul. Which really is the roots for all modern music. Along with folk whicvh I also like.
I have been into blues roots music for years with legends like Robert Johnson. Who ironically the legend of selling his souls to the devil at the crossroads comes from. But also Leadbelly who inspired songs like 'Midnight special' and 'The house of the rising sun,. Also Charley Patton (1887–1934): Often called the "Founder of the Delta Blues,".
These artist were born out of the black slave communities who mixed gospel with blues roots music into spiritual songs. Songs like Wade in the Water" and "Go Down Moses," and "Swing low sweet chariot". Made popular by Etta James in the 60's. ".
