They will be voting on this. They are already at 9.1 million.

Capping the polulation. Why not

Governments tend to run like businesses these days. Every financial year they aim to make more money than the last year, more population then the last year.
This makes governments increase taxes and look for other ways to rip off citizens. It makes them increase immigration. It turns their backs on looking after its citizens. All for the sake of growing.

Why must everything be growing. Why can't we just be happy with what we already have. It boils down to greed, wanting more and more

And if your country is like the USA there is a lot of waste and fraud. President Trump got our border under control so no problem there now. But people like Nick Shirley discovered many millions of dollars in tax fraud with our social service programs.

In Minnesota and even California, many people were pretending to run day cares for children or hospice services. They would fraudulently charge the government. In Minnesota many of these were owned by Somalis.

Thinking about it a bit more, it might not be a great idea to cap a nations population. It may lead to a slippery slope.

China tried to slow its population growth by allowing only one child per couple. So any child after the first was aborted. Not only that but they would abort the first child if it was female because they wanted a male. That's some horrifying stuff.

So if capping a nations population can lead to that kind of inhumane practice then I would say no.

I would just cut immigration. Australia is traditionally a Christian nation so I would only allow a small number of Christians to immigrate to Australia.

Do you look for the best interest rate your money can get ?
Do you live in a house that exceeds your needs ?
Do you use a tax agent to ensure you get the best refund ?
Do you make an offer when somebody is selling something you want ?
Do you eat more than you need to ?
Do you have luxuries that you don't need ?
Do you ever buy something hoping to make a profit later ?
Do you gamble ? eg Xlotto etc ?
Do you choose to and have nice clothes/shoes etc ?
Do you choose to have the mod con's eg dishwasher, pool, large screen TV, latest tech items ?

Welcome to the willful sin of greed which we are guilty of to some degree

Your missing the point.
The job of the government should not be any of these things nor should it be run like a business. The job of the government is to serve its citizens and when they think this way they are not doing their job and are turning their backs on its citizens

I was talking about the government being greedy.

Do you think it's ok for the government to be greedy?

It’s been rejected by the voters- not sure they could have implemented it anyway
