Anyone else getting this vibe? @Armour of God @Ziggy @Debp? Commanded to lead, being nice so everyone is comfortable all the time leads no one.

Jesus told religious leaders to their face what for, which is not nice. We are not called to be nice but righteous. Thoughts?

I don't know. The bloke comes across too proud and cocky for my liking. Can't stand people like that, think they know everything, had to shut him off after a minute or so, was doing my head in.

But I think I know what his talking about.
An example would be how the west allowed gay people to marry, just to be nice to them. Now it's lead us to a point where they cannot even be criticised and their sinful lives are celebrated.

Another example is a previous thread on this forum that asked would you go to your brothers 2nd wedding if he had committed adultery.
Eh, who am I to judge and destroy a family relationship, I too have sinned so i would be a hypocrite not to attend. And I'm not sinning by attending the wedding. Being gentle and non judgemental has its place too, especially if the brother was repentant.

The "movies" or "films" we have been given are really all we have to go by, other than what we read for ourselves.
We can't hear the tone of voice , only those who witnessed know for sure and we have their words telling us the Lord's words.
The Bible is a guide. God words are written in them. But ultimately it comes down to how the Lord puts them in your heart to hear them.
And by experiences that we encounter in our own daily lives we can relate to the emotions and actions that we may feel ourselves if it were us in that same situation.
We are given an understanding of how the Lord feels, what he thinks, the humanity in Jesus brings that realization into our own lives.
What a gift God gave to mankind. He gave us himself.
And in return we give ourselves to him.

The Lord showed us in the OT his Strength, His Justice, His Judgments, His dislikes and his loves.
In the NT The Lord shows us His Mercy, His Grace, His kindness and His love towards us.

But to those even in the NT God showed himself to those who were rebellious.

I have no probrlem with Jesus demonstrating His Fathers displeasure in what he had given them to worship him in.
But they rather worship themselves. And I believe thats what we see with throwing out the den of thieves making a living for themselves on his doorstep.

And they wanted him gone. Just like today.
And we're not going to let that happen.
Our hearts are full of love and mercy and kindness to those who are capable of love. But to those who refuse and rebel against God, we rebel against them.

This is Spiritual Warfare, and our souls our faith and Truth is on the line.
And we will not Fail. For God is with us and we are with Him.

Hugs

The word 'nice' is subject to interpretation, however one thing does stand out for me and that is, 'thou shalt not bear false witness'

The guy in the video obviously has never heard a real evangelist. The Hellfire and brimstone type, that used to be common in churches and most traveled to other churches too. Sadly they are a dying breed, just like part of the end times, when God does not appoint evangelists anymore.

I think it's important to always "speak the truth in love." That doesn't mean we need to be doormats or pushovers. We can stand our ground but we need to use wisdom in how we speak to others.

I agree, and sometimes you have to be forceful.

Honey, don't put that fork in the electric socket, you could get electrocuted.
Or,
Don't Put that Fork in the electric Socket, You could get Electrocuted.

Either way, both are said in love for the benefit of the one sticking the fork in the electric socket to not be inured.

And if they insist on sticking a fork in the electric socket, you remove the fork.
And if they still persist and get another fork, they need to be punished for not listening to sound advice.
Or, you can just let them find out for themselves. Which wouldn't really be very loving but eventually they would get the message.

Hugs

I’ve never spoken with anyone who thought Vlad the Impaler was nice.

A serious question: Is anyone here - besides @Wrangler (please see his companion thread titled “God Commands Righteous Violence”) - interested in raising their sons to become Vlad the Impaler? (He is being presented in that thread as a Christian role model.)

Jesus told religious leaders to their face what for, which is not nice. We are not called to be nice but righteous. Thoughts?
I didn't realize that one of Jesus' disciples was a Canaanite. That was Simon called Zelotes, So he wasn't a Jew.
In most places I hear Simon the Zealot, a man of war for righteousness.
In the series The Chosen, Simon the Zealot throws his dagger in the river and walks away.
The problem I think with Simon is he was looking for revenge. and confusing it with Righteous Anger.
And I believe at times there is a place for that, but we're also told not to sin.
So doing something out of your own desire to have retribution, isn't really righteous, even though we think it's for the right reason.
That would be like Saul, before he was renamed Paul. What Saul had was Righteous Anger in the name of God.
Somewhere there has to be a line.
Defense not Offence
Always be ready to defend.
Phl 1:17
But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

Defending the Truth, Defending the Faith.

We did have it good for awhile, We didn't need to defend it.
It takes a lot to defend the truth and defend the faith.
But violence, it doesn't have to be.

First comes, let us reason together.

I don't think Washington Journal on C-Span this morning was very happy with me.
I get so tired of the propaganda, and the things people say. They are clueless. Or some are just rancid.
so they have a comment section on x you can reply as it's live. 3 hours every morning, spewing lies.
I just kept commenting, will you please tell the truth. The first hour was about the speech the President gave the other night about the declassified documents. They began to say, oh, there's nothing to them.
Just gaslight people back to sleep. Nothing to see here...sshhhh
It's not just politics. They are trying to raise a generation that really has no memory of the Bible.
Out of sight, out of mind.

How many children you know say their prayers at night?

So Yes we need to Defend it.

You just have to make your Light shine Brighter brother.
And be careful not to bring any darkness into your heart.
There are no Zealots today.
And yet there is zeal

Psa 119:139
My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

sa 59:17
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

I suppose it depends on how you hear it.

Paul was an Ambassador . that's a big title, holds a lot of weight.
At one place it says he fought with beasts in
1Co 15:32
If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

If you had to bring this into today's context, it would be like bringing a bible into a gang of antifa.
Ephesus was a pretty rough place. Wasn't that where Godess Dianna lived?
We have a lot of those around today to.
How many times Paul said they stoned him and he was shipwrecked.
I guess the question is, where are the Defenders?
who in this day and age is the Ambassador for the gospel sake?

How many people you see putting their lives on the line?
Jesus could have defended himself, his disciples could have taken up swords,
but his response isn't don't do it because it's not wrong to defend,
but for this reason he was sent.

Not only did it fulfil prophecy, but at the very time he came into the world, they conspired to sacrifice him for nation.
they needed a reason, so they looked to trip him up at every turn. And ended up using false witnesses and bearing false witness.
Always have to revert to lying and cheating.

But they had to kill an innocent man.
And I know where Satan's seat is.
was human sacrifice.

I think that's why God had to destroy it and let the Romans take over.

So are the Romans evil because they destroyed a temple that had become infested with lies?
Usually God sends an Army. And he decides who the punisher is.
Every time Israel fell into idolatry witchcraft, he would send some form of war to drag them away from that. or pestilence or famine or beasts of the earth. beasts again.
Whether he attacked the enemy with another enemy and some would escape.
Or one would be sent directly at them.
Kings and Chronicles.

Why do we think today is any different?
All was quiet and all of a sudden someone turned the light on.
You're Fake News.

Simon the Zealot was not a Canaanite. He was was referred to as a Kananite in the Byzantine and Alexandrian manuscripts. Meaning he came from Cana of Galilee. All the Apostles were Galilean as noted by the two Angels and Christ's ascension Acts 1:11

Sometimes God puts the power to make things right in the Right hands that have the Legal Authority to bring Justice.
I understand the desire to want to fix things ourselves.
But if we wait upon the Lord, then somehow things manage to work out.

Newly hidden FBI documents released

The FBI staged January 6 five months before it even happened and concealed it from the President of the United States, the U.S. Congress, including AG William Barr and others. A memo shows the FBI conducted a secret “January 6 tabletop exercise” in the summer of 2020, embedding 274 undercover agents and informants and rehearsing post-Jan. 6 mass prosecutions of Americans five months before it even occurred. King Solomon Reporting: The FBI’s Boston office ran a secret tabletop exercise in August 2020. It included embedded informants, 274 undercover FBI agents, and even planned “mass prosecutions,” including for minor offenses—the very same tactics later used against Jan. 6 defendants. —— This was no intelligence failure—it was a premeditated conspiracy by Democrats to suppress evidence of crimes committed during the overthrow on November 3, 2020. In other words, Christopher Wray will go down as the most corrupt FBI Director in U.S. history. He has outdone James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper combined. Why do you think the Biden-Harris administration—a terrorist administration—kept him on board? By the way, the January 6 Committee was a cover-up for the cover-up. Every single one of them should be hunted down, placed on the FBI Most Wanted List, and await trial for the crime of sedition—why do you think they were granted pardons?

The King James needed an update that never came. Most translations call Simon a Zealot. but translation notes usually depict Simon as a Cananaean / Zealot. This is a current debate. Was Simon a Zealot from a rebellious group; or simply from the town of Cana. Personally, I lean toward the town of Cana. Mary was from the town of Magdala and Jesus called all His Apostles from Galilee. Two angels can't be wrong.

Matthew 10:4 from the Mounce interlinear NT:
Simon the Cananaean or Kananaios, from the Greek. This also translated to Zealot

The Amp bible on Matthew 10:4 : Simon the Cananaean (Zealot),

On another note, Jesus's first miracle was in Cana, so highly likely Simon was from there, since Jesus was there and knew of Simon.
