Equity focuses on fairness and justice, ensuring that individuals have access to the resources and opportunities they need based on their unique circumstances. Unlike equality, which treats everyone the same, equity adjusts treatment to achieve fair outcomes, addressing historical or systemic disadvantages.
Inclusion is about creating a culture where all individuals feel valued, respected, and fully integrated into the organization. It ensures that diverse voices are heard and that everyone has a sense of belonging and the ability to contribute meaningfully.
In a previous thread there was a post about a woman who was hired as a DEI hire to man a ship.
DEI does not function on qualifications or merit. It simply gives everyone the opportunity to do whatever any other person with a Professional Skill is qualified for.
Case in point:
When my dad was returned from Rehab that I had sent him to so I could have a few days of respite, the two people on the ambulance that returned him are what I would consider DEI Hires.
Neither of them knew how to properly transport my dad from the gurney to his bed. They were going to stand him on his feet and pivot him around to sit him on the bed.
Dad hasn't used his legs in over 2 years. There is no strength, no muscle, and hardly much feeling in them.
They literally could of broken his legs.
I had to sharply disagree with their assessment on how to transfer him.
Eventually, after being spat on in the face, they did as I suggested.
These are EMT's running an Ambulance for Emergency Situations.
It has absolutely nothing to do with someone's sexual orientation.
It has to do with the QAULITY of their ABILITY to do the job Professionally.
For this reason, many DEI programs in the United States have been discontinued.
Because it puts a lot of people at RISK.
