The Recent Controversies, regarding US Public Schools Education…
Curriculums and Teaching Practices…

I decided to review some old Yearbooks I have in my collection.

Five particular different years; Four from the early 1920’s; One From the early 1940’s.
All the same high school…one particular notation mentioning a very small class of grads of “only 167”, whereby the school was large, and grads typically closer to 300+.

Regarding the students photos, all in respectful attire for posed and candid pictures.

It was the Staff, “Teachers and
Subjects”…that caught my interest.

The majority of multiple Teachers…of Subjects…were:
Math
History
Science

Love it!

Also, on a smaller scale, one or two Teachers…holding classes…For Learning skills;
Music, Domestic /Sew/ cooking, Wood/Mechanics, Physical /Sports, Language.

Same … major subjects, used in a series of “school text books” introduced about 1830…
And widely used in Elementary Schools by the mid-1830’s…
(which I also have a reproduction / of those 7 books…McGuffy Readers)

Conclusion…Sadly; Disturbingly;
Modernly the US, Education “system” has eroded into a pitfall…
Of:
A babysitting institution, text book creators based on psychology rather than sound, accurate facts, sending unprepared students out into the public…
Who can not read, write, figure, understand, respect, behave, as the adults, they are by age, but mentally immature in wisdom.
