There is NO eternal destiny called heaven. Read the bible for yourself. The next age is on a new earth...not heaven. Heaven is ONLY for now.

Well that is borrowing from the Jehovah's witnesses.
I know the Bible backs and forwards.....and that ain't it. LOL

But in trying to help someone who is not approaching scripture in the way of the Spirit it will sometimes seem to them as though you are pitting spirit against the written word though.
I may be misunderstanding what you mean here, but if you are saying that I am approaching Scripture in a way that pits the Spirit against the written Word, then please show me specifically where I have done that.

Quote something I actually said and show me from Scripture where it is wrong. I am more than willing to be corrected by the Word of God.

My whole point has been the opposite. We need the Holy Spirit to understand Scripture, but whatever we believe the Spirit is showing us must still agree with the Scripture He inspired.

So if you see me crossing that line somewhere, please point it out specifically. I want to examine it by the Word.

No, move on from arguing with people trying to convince them to believe whatever it is he's sayin.

Jesus spoke Truth and then did not proceed to try and talk everyone in to believing what He said.

Jesus let people turn away if they wanted to.
He starts a thread about something he wants to talk about. It’s his thread, why would he move on from it? They come in and argue. He won’t let people turn away if they want to? He somehow MAKES them stay and won’t let them turn away from his thread? What are you even saying?

LOL There ...Now I'm a JW because that's all you know. The amount you don't know is staggering.

Anyway....check in the bible where there a new heaven and new earth...and figure out which one people live on.

Didn't they cover this in your Religion and the World classes. Hagilgoul haba! The Jews use this is express the life to come. On the next ball!!!! The new earth.

LOL Dude, when comes to biblical knowledge and history, you could not pack my lunch.
The scriptures mention a New Earth and a New Heaven and a New Jerusalem, but no real specifics.
It brings up a ton of questions, I mean a ton. That sort of thing is the playground for the religiously imaginative.
A perfect place for you.
Sticking with the scriptures and all that can be said is that, it is going to happen and it will be good.

The scriptures say that the Earth will pass away, but what does that mean? Will it even be the same planet? I am thinking, total re-created. Notice I said I think....not trying to pass it off as I know. But the scriptures speak of a new creation.
What type of beings will we be on this New Earth? Food....eating.....clothes.....sex.....houses.....families. Will we need to make clothes, or wash clothes? Will there be bodies as we understand them? If so will they need clothes? What will we be doing? Jobs LOL Is God going to provide food, clothing, housing.....transportation? Great joy and happiness.....what is going to cause great joy and happiness?....No Cars? walk around and be happy? Will there be baseball? Sorry from an old joke.

People are uncomfortable with questions like these but Theologians do not fill in the blanks. We say what the scriptures say and do not add imaginative details. We can have faith that it is going to happen and it will all be good, but that is about it.

The Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists have built detailed religious beliefs on all this. Imaginary.
I would suspect that you have a lot of imaginary details in your head? Do you teach them?

I don't suppose you bothered to listen to the video in the OP. I wrote a big book about putting the whole bible into context that shows the ways of God and in particular the way of God in Christ.

I submitted the book to professional reviewers...as suggested by the publisher. I had to pay for it. Experts in the field reviewed the book. Phd's and such. A theology guy reviewed my book and said that my theology was sound (I had almost 1,000 verses fit together. to form a framework into which everything fit)

He said my theology was sound but my findings were controversial as they didn't follow any existing system. The guy was clinical but honest. People have been greatly edified by the book....if they are open to deeper truth. One guy bought 10 books to give to friends.

So then people who are far less qualified where it comes to what is biblical or not will rail at my teaching without any knowledge or depth of understanding of the bible. They show their bias and their ignorance. What I say is far too deep for novices and dilettantes of the bible. And people for the most part are NOT truth seekers.

You are welcome to have a go

People in general don't know how to juggle the idea that Jesus Christ is BOTH God and man. They SAY they understand...but they don't. The fact that Jesus is BOTH means that there are 2 poles or aspects ....or levels of truth that must be addressed. We are to be conformed to Jesus as a Man...and as God. The full stature of Christ comprises BOTH. Being conformed to Christ means BOTH.

The first we can do by OBEYING His words (eating His flesh) and taking on a mind to serve and to suffer...as a MAN. The second is impossible for us to do...we are NOT God. But He gives us His divine life and nature (drink His blood) through the Holy Spirit when we surrender all and enter into Him. We sell all we have to buy the field where Jesus lives. When the disciples asked Jesus...where do you live? Jesus replied...Come and see. So He abides in us but we are to go to where He is to abide in Him.

So we are to be WHERE HE IS in order to fulfill the divine aspect of our upward calling into Christ. How? By grace through faith.

When a man follows Christ in BOTH His humanity and His divinity, he comes to realize that righteousness is dual in nature. What WE can do PLUS what God can do. There is a righteousness that falls down on us from heaven (put on Christ the New Man). This is in holiness.

But there is also a human response to God's commands...as in righteousness springs up from the earth. Our righteous response.

Lightning meets MIDWAY in the air as the electrical charge starts from BOTH the sky AND the earth. Our righteousness rises up (in the form of faith and obedience) and supports God's righteousness to form the character of Christ. Not many realize that. Too much false doctrine.

And that's how we come into direct contact with God. Unless we rise up in righteousness to SUPPORT the righteousness that rains down on us...there is NO POWER. Peter says we are to ADD to our faith and what God gives us...with what WE are to supply. Righteousness leading to love. Paul says the same in 1 Cor. 13.

But most people will jumble the 2 aspects into a false narrative that provides neither life nor power. I'm trying to remedy this through my teaching...but the egos will not fly like eagles.

If it's nothing new then it's not a revelation. You live in England and you don't know English? I both know how the Spirit works AND how to interpret English...and French! (And some Hebrew)

I suggest you look up the word revelation and compare that with ....nothing new.
@Hepzibah might live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. They are also UK.

No one will pay attention to this. If the pretenders can't accuse then they will not engage any truth...they will just leave. So we know they are hearing truth because no one responds. Or else the crows come out to attack IF they think they can gather other crows for a feeding frenzy.
I am praying about this. This entire discourse has given me much to consider. However I do have to agree with bdavidc about the redemption that is in Christ's death. The scripture states plainly that we are reconciled by his death.

Ro 5:10
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

I know there is life in his blood but He poured it out unto death so we may receive it. I have never heard anyone, not the ECFs, not the Catholic mystics not the great ones in the recent past, say the things you say about redemption. I am not even sure how one would would present the gospel with your message.

That being said, I think your warnings about Jesus expecting a return are valid and should make one tremble in fear. I also agree, in part, with the Kingdom being a "meritocracy". But I don't see merits as the SOURCE of salvation but rather as a RESULT of salvation. All one has to do is look at the parable of the talents to see one's place in the Kingdom will be based on the return on investment. But we are not saved by that.

I think bdavidc fails to see many things concerning shadows and types and he would have probably rebuked Paul in his day for his analogy about Sarah and Hagar because it wasn't in the bible prior to Paul's usage. In any case, I don't think anyone should be banned as passion for the truth can get the best of anyone. I do think it's time to close this thread as the signal to noise ratio is off the charts

*please do not like this post because I am disagreeing with epi. I am not on your side either

What you fail to see to this point is that death doesn't justify anyone. Christ's shed blood reconciled the world to Himself through redemption. The WHOLE WORLD. A life for a life. The death penalty was remitted because Jesus took it on Himself. But this redemption is NOT to be claimed or taken from God for our private use. No, God DECIDES who is innocent and who is guilty. If we forgive we will be forgiven. If we show mercy then we will be shown mercy. The redemption of the world is conditional on us personally IF we OBEY the will of God. Believing has nothing to do with this. faith without works is dead. We will be judged by our DEEDS not our beliefs.

We can't redeem ourselves by CLAIMING the blood of Jesus on ourselves. Neither can we justify ourselves by claiming to believe in Jesus. That's what people are missing. No, the New Covenant is based on eternal life....not death.

The death cult that is propagated in the Babylonian religious system has infiltrated into every dark recess of the human soul...to corrupt the truth that can set people free.

Justification is FROM LIFE. Paul says...the justification of life. We can only know we are justified as we walk in a miraculous grace (by faith) that has us overcome as Jesus did. That's ALL we have to show us that God has received us. Otherwise it is just religious speculation. And that's all we see here.

No I meant "you" in a generic sense. If anyone tries to help or correct someone who is not being in spirit with the written word, it can sometimes SEEM as though the person trying to help or correct is pitting the Spirit against the word, even though they are not.

How do I present the gospel?

1. To the wicked I say...Jesus died because of your sins...but He paid for them if you obey Him step by step...He will lead you in the way of life. You need to change your ways and listen to Jesus. Repent. The believing here is ONLY what the person DOES in response. Faith without works is opinion.

2. To the righteous I say....there is a higher way of love and power in heaven whereby we can know God and live in His love in the perfection of Christ. There is an eternal glory for those who love God and enter into Him. God receives us into His kingdom life and realm by FAITH ALONE. By grace through faith. In this case it is ONLY faith that receives the gospel on this level.

But people have jumbled these to make Christianity meaningless. Having neither righteousness (obeying) nor holiness (being where He is).

Jesus was not a FALLEN man, and neither are true believers. He had the Spirit without measure, and likewise our righteousness comes from His Spirit, the new man, not from our fallen nature.

Jesus said....If you love Me obey my commanments...obey my MITSVAH. Mitsvah is a command within an intimate relationship. When we walk in the Spirit we are experiencing a mitsvah. When we obey God through love that's also a mitsvah. Mitsvot connects us to God in relationship. Resisting God's commands puts us outside of the truth...the eternal reality. God is God and to serve Him is to know what love and beauty are. We are called... not forced...into that love and beauty through His commandments. We only disobey God to be outside His love and salvation.

As Anathasius said 'God became man so that man might become god'.

The only way to understand the Incarnation, is to understand theosis or divinization or translation into the kingdom. The only way to understand theosis is to have been actually in it, partaking of the divine nature.

If you are talking about Nestorianism it was condemned. If you are talking about Dyophysitism, the most common one, then I will say that whatever the majority believe is usually false, something you like to say often.

I find myself on the Miaphysite side. Two natures acting as one. This is I believe what we read about in Romans 7, which is when two natures are battling, and then at the end of the chapter we see them uniting.

It was what it felt like for me when I was walking in the Spirit.

Ps 19:7-10
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment (mitsvah) of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
