Man is allowed, morally, to protect himself.
Jack, where exactly did Jesus teach that trusting God means refusing to protect yourself or another innocent human being?
Book. Chapter. Verse.
Exodus 22:2 - "If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him."
In 2026 that means - If a thief is caught breaking into a house and is struck and killed, the person who struck him is not guilty of murder.
God's Law explicitly recognizes legitimate self-defense under certain circumstances.
Proverbs 24:11–12 - "If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain..."
In 2026 that means - If you see someone about to be murdered or killed, do everything you reasonably can to save their life. Don't just stand there and let it happen and don't pretend you didn't know what was happening.
God knows exactly what you saw, what you knew, and whether you tried to help.
Scripture doesn't merely permit rescuing those facing death.
It warns against failing to rescue them. <<<------
Acts 23:12–24 - When more than forty men plotted to murder Paul, did he refuse human protection and simply wait for God to intervene?
NO. Paul accepted an armed Roman escort of 470 soldiers, horsemen, and spearmen to protect him from assassination.
Apparently the apostle Paul didn't receive your modern revelation that trusting God means refusing human protection, standing helplessly by while innocent people are murdered, or simply allowing yourself to be killed when you have the means to prevent it.
Mercy is not surrender to evil.
Forgiveness is not permission to murder.
Protecting the innocent is not the same as murdering the guilty.
Your theology confuses trusting God with abandoning the very people Scripture commands us to protect.
Now show us where Christ taught otherwise.
Book. Chapter. Verse. >>>
At this point, Jack, either you're deliberately trolling this discussion, or your position is so far removed from what Scripture actually teaches that you can no longer distinguish your own theology from God's Word.
And that's not my opinion; I've just demonstrated the contradiction with Book, Chapter, and Verse. ^
Now address the Scriptures instead of condemning everyone who disagrees with you to hell.
I'm curious...
Do you believe Christians should refuse physical self-defense because Christ forbids violence, or because you believe God will
personally intervene to keep
you alive? You know, because He's
"talking to you now" and wasn't talking to His disciples about an event soon coming that they will need to
run from in order to be
protected.
Luke 21:20–21 explicitly describes Jesus warning His listeners about Jerusalem surrounded by armies and instructing those in Judea to flee. He didn't say to stand there like fools and wait for "God's protection" did He? No...
Or perhaps you've become so convinced that you're among God's specially chosen, uniquely enlightened Christians that you've started mistaking your own assumptions for personal promises from Heaven. After all, why should Christ's actual instructions to His first-century disciples matter when you've apparently promoted yourself into the center of the prophecy?
