Yes, he did fear the Lord!!!, (but not while writing...he was only told to write in verse 19) UNTIL Jesus told him to, "Fear not;" in verse 17.

Rev 1:14-17
17And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Blessings! Awaiting your reply.

Amen dear sister.

PART-THREE

Matt 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.
Matt 13:17 For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
Matt 13:18 “Hear then the parable of the sower:
Matt 13:19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.

Matt 13:20 As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy,
Matt 13:21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.

Matt 13:22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.

Matt 13:23 As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

The good soil is like a just born of God small pawn on the big chessboard of the Lord. The pawn starts at row 2, the pawn is supposed to move forward to row 3, 4, 5 bearing fruit. Some pawns will even make it to row 8, the promotion square! And the pawn is promoted to either a knight, bishop, rook, some even to a queen.

He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.

Why??
John wrote in Rev. 15:4
"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest."

I really think you need to do a thorough study on the fear of the Lord.

You're a chess player!! (I used to play with my husband way back in our early years of marriage...he was a much better player than me.) Knowing how the pieces moved, when we came to a place where it would be queen for queen, my husband trusted that the queens would be safe in a standoff. However, in my mind, his queen in his hands was way more powerful than my queen in my hands! :D I always sacrificed my queen for his...he hated that!! LOL I was way more comfortable playing against him with his (our) queens gone!! Often, with my insignificant pawns, I would get my queen back...of course, I would make sure to kill off his pawns so he couldn't get his queen back!
It was my only hope of winning against him. LOL

Yes, it's the beginning. As he pointed out to you, as we grow up into the image of Christ through knowledge we no longer live in the bondage of fear
But I don't live in the bondage of fear. I have learned to trust God in everything, including my life and the lives of those whom I love.

because in this world we are like him.
That's the goal...but I'm not there yet.

Ps.17:15
"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness."
That's a journey, not an overnight success story,
agreed
though we are saved through our faith in God's forgiveness every inch of that journey.
No. I don't agree with this. We are saved through our faith in God's character and His promises subject that we meet His requirements.

Matt.6:14-15
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jesus came that we might have life, not forgiveness. Forgiveness is conditional as shown in Matt. 6:14-15 above. Also, there are parables concerning forgiveness, I'm sure you have read them, but have you understood them?

If you don't believe in the forgiveness of God for your sin then you remain in the guilt of your past sins no matter how good and righteous and holy you are from this point forward.

The same law that explains what it is to be good, holy, and righteous also requires the just penalty for sin and had a system of sacrifice that had to be adhered to for the forgiveness of sin. You couldn't just repent and then start living a good life to be forgiven and made right with God. You had to satisfy the law's requirements for sacrifice, too, for the forgiveness of sin. That has not changed except now the Sacrifice for sin is Jesus Christ and is administered through his better ministry in the tabernacle in heaven. Faith fulfills and upholds the requirements of the law, not destroys them.

Romans 3:31
31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

You still have to repent and do what is right. You still have to present an offering of blood for the forgiveness of sin. It's just that now the requirements of the law are fulfilled in the way of the better and everlasting ministry of Christ and his sacrifice, and the giving of the Holy Spirit.

But I don't live in the bondage of fear.
What I'm saying is, living in an inordinate fear of God's wrath demonstrates an immature relationship with God, not a mature grown up relationship with him. Though it sounds all good and holy when someone focuses on and emphasizes the fear of God's judgment. The judgment to come is actually a baby milk doctrine. Growing up to love as Jesus loves, and live for him that way is a meat doctrine. A ministry that focuses on judgement is a baby milk ministry.

Hebrews 5:13-14, 6:1-2
13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

1Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, a and of faith in God, 2instruction about cleansing rites, b the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Being like Jesus in this life in the obedience of love, for all that actually means, is the meat doctrine for the mature that sets fears of the coming Judgment to rest, because in this life you are like him, showing yourself to justified by faith in his forgiveness and are living for him in obedience to what really matters.

We should fear punishment for sin, but a ministry that focuses on having a relationship of fearfulness of God is not leading you to maturity. But, truthfully, because you have not received the forgiveness of God by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus you have no choice but to fear the wrath of God. You don't have the sacrifice of Christ for justification that rescues you from the coming wrath of God.

That's the goal...but I'm not there yet.
None of us are there yet, perfectly. But some of us are well on the way so as to be characterized as being like Jesus in this world. But by making an admission of not being that, if that's what you're doing (I'm trying to be nice here), you will live in fear of God's judgment.

1 John 4:16-18
16Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

People who have moved beyond the elementary milk doctrines of the faith (Hebrews 5:12-14, 6:1-2) and into the practice of righteousness don't focus on and live in fear of God's judgment because they are like Jesus in this life. They are doing the things that demonstrate they know God and are at peace with him, and, therefore, have no reason to fear the coming judgment. It's a mature place to come to in Christianity.

Milk doctrine ministries that teach the elementary truths of Christianity are fine. Everyone starts out on the milk doctrines of Christianity, and must do that. But one of those milk doctrines is faith in God. If you don't get that right nothing else matters from that point forward. If you don't believe in the sacrifice of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin nothing else matters. Nothing you do or believe can make up for that.

You are believing a lie. Jesus did come to bring forgiveness.

Luke 24:46-47
46The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations

1 John 2:1-2
1—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins

Romans 3:25
25God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, i through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.

Forgiveness is conditional as shown in Matt. 6:14-15 above. Also, there are parables concerning forgiveness, I'm sure you have read them, but have you understood them?
Justification is by faith in the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin. Deeds of repentance, such as forgiving others, are not what make you right with God. They don't pay the penalty of past sins and the requirement for blood sacrifice required by the law. That doesn't mean you don't have to repent. It means your repentance is not what actually makes you right with God.

I think it is you that, perhaps, have not understood Jesus' parables about forgiveness. They must be understood in the context of the whole counsel of God's word. Ultimately, not forgiving others is the sign that you have not believed in and received the forgiveness of God yourself. Like the servant in the story of the Unmerciful Servant in Matthew 18:23-35. God forgave him his unpayable debt even though he didn't ask for it to be forgiven but rather had asked for time to pay it back. He departed from the Master, thinking he had received time to pay it back, not that it had been forgiven altogether (knock, knock, are you listening?). And some are like that today. They perceive the message of God's forgiveness as time to pay back what they owe, instead of what it is, a complete forgiveness of the debt altogether. And so off they go, trying to keep God's commands to be relieved of the debt they owe. Not understanding or believing that the debt has been forgiven altogether, if they would just receive it as such.

John wrote in Rev. 15:4
"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest."

I really think you need to do a thorough study on the fear of the Lord.

Please don't try to change the meaning of the divine explosion of love John wrote.

1Joh 4:13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
1Joh 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
1Joh 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1Joh 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
1Joh 4:17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.
1Joh 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1Joh 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

I know it does not fit in your gospel of fear, it does not make the above untrue.

Blessings sister.

These sins are sin not unto death...
They aren't sins unto death because ALL sin is forgiven by the sacrifice of Jesus for the born again believer who believes and trusts in that sacrifice. You're trying to make a case that there are sins that born again believers simply cannot commit under any circumstances. I guess you're basing that off the fact that you never felt tempted to commit adultery after you were born again. That's great for you. That doesn't mean it's that way for all born again believers. It's dangerous to project your own experiences onto others. It's also dangerous to think that just because one has had a supernatural experience that their word is gospel. I have seen the Holy Spirit. It matched the description given in the Bible on the Day of Pentecost. That hardly means that I'm special and that everything I say and believe is gospel truth that applies to all. It means I had a supernatural experience, that's all.

This is a scam gospel. Believing in God's forgiveness is the same as being forgiven?
Yes, because that is how the efficacy of Christ's sacrifice is received - by faith.

Romans 3:25
25God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, i through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.

It's received by faith in that 1) you've never laid eyes on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, nor did you yourself bring him in sacrifice to God yourself, and 2) it is by faith in God's word that the sacrifice of Jesus that God has provided is the just penalty for your sin and that he will receive it on your behalf.

That's what it means to be justified by faith.

Believe you are forgiven and it is so?
Those who want God's forgiveness call on him in faith and they get it.

Romans 10:11-13
11...“Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” e 12...and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” f

When you believe what the Lord says about Jesus he credits it to you as righteousness.

Romans 4:3
3“Abraham believed God (about a son), and it (his faith) was credited to him as righteousness.” a

Romans 10:10
10it is with your heart that you believe (God's word about Jesus) and are justified
