How can you take away the righteousness of those who are not righteous?
What typical pretenders will do is to deny righteousness to anyone but themselves...since if they don't then how are they better than anyone else? Next is to climb over the walls of the kingdom that were pulled down by the Babylonians in order to claim that righteousness for themselves. In that status they think they are safe, fully outside the judgment of God....fully protected by their religious beliefs..

Until God cleans His house.

You're actually the one doing that.
You feel condemned by the righteous, so you try to invalidate their righteousness. It makes you feel better to bring the righteous down.

1 John 3:12
12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did Cain slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.

Actually, it is through faith that we are fully protected:

1 Peter 1:5
5who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

We believe that it is through faith in the blood of Christ that our sins are forgiven and we are protected from the wrath of God to come.

1 Thessalonians 1:10
10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

And if a Hindu or Muslim does what Jesus has laid out as obedience to the will of God...then it is mercy for them.
And then when they can't do the will of God, which no one can do in and of themselves, then what?
And then there's the matter of the unpayable debt of their past disobedience.

These harsh realities are what make the Good News of redemption through faith in Jesus Christ good. He redeems us from our slavery and service to sin by paying off what we owe the taskmaster we have sold ourselves to and setting us free from the labor of that sin.

This is false and unbiblical. Jesus died for the sins of the world...not just the church.
His sacrifice is for the whole world, but only those who have faith in that sacrifice have it. You can't have the benefit of a sacrifice that you do not believe and trust in. You become a part of God's church when you believe in and receive by faith the sacrifice of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin.

Lucifer's first mistake wasn't pride. His first mistake was to take his eyes off God and look at himself. He then compared his beauty with the rest of creation and THEN grew proud. Similarity, the first thing Adam and Eve noticed was their own nakedness. They looked at themselves. Up to that point they had no concept of "self" consciousness, they only beheld the glory of God. The way out of sin, after the new birth by faith, is to once again behold only the glory of God.

Ro 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

"sin" "harmatia" to miss the mark. What is the mark? The glory of God.

Do this:

2 Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

In your prayer time, forget totally anything about yourself. Put to death any self conscious thoughts or self interest. Focus your eye only on Jesus and His glory. You will not only enter into full fellowship with Him, you will also reflect His image back to Him. This will bring into reality the truth that when God looks at you...He sees only Jesus.

Without giving mercy, people forsake their own mercy before God.
Without giving mercy people SHOW that they have not believed in and received God's mercy.

Like the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18: 21-35. He didn't ask the master for forgiveness of his unpayable debt, but rather time to pay it off. And so his perception was that the master had given him time to pay the debt off rather than having forgiven it altogether. This is evidenced by how he then demanded that his fellow servant pay off his debt just as he was doing. And that is what you are doing. You have perceived the gospel as God giving you time to pay back what you owe, rather than what it actually is, having the debt forgiven altogether unconditionally. We see that in how you demand that others also pay back the debt they owe just as you think you need to do. If you had received the unconditional forgiveness of God, rather than seeking to pay off your debt, you would extend that same forgiveness to others and would release them from their debt just as you had been from yours. But as it is, since you think God is giving you time to pay off your debt, that is what you also demand of others.

The reason why so many claim to be believers is because they think they need to name and claim just to be saved. But the opposite is true.
You can't have any promise of God that you won't claim by faith. If God promised it, then you can have it, if you'll just receive it by faith.

Matthew 9:28-29
28“Do you believe that I am able to do this?” He asked.

“Yes, Lord,” they answered.

29Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you.”

The problem is some people say that whatever they claim by faith is the will of God. That's a horrible distortion of truth that has discredited the actual truth that you can indeed claim by faith that which God really has promised he will do for you and for which he has provided the faith. That is how a person gets saved. They receive by faith that which God has said he will do for them. And since God's word is his promise, he is obligated by his own word to do what he has promised to do, and what you believe and are expecting him to do. Forget the Mercedes Benz. You don't make things God's will by having faith. You receive that which is God's will by having faith.

That's not what faith is. You are confusing God with a department store. There are some things that are universal in nature...based on believing and obedience. Is it good to believe that Jesus id Lord...YES. But what that gets you personally is not what is being advertised. God hates selfishness and self-interest. If you seek to save your life you will lose it. So your motivation is wrong. It's good to believe but not to claim things for yourself.

This is based on an actual personal exchange with Jesus. Not some billboard advertisement. With true faith comes an obstacle to overcome. Not so with religious beliefs.

That's just it. It has to be according to God's will.

David said...save me from presumptuous sins. With so many warnings of the bible...how come so few ever consider that the warning concerns them?

There is no debate that Atonement through faith in the blood of Jesus is God's will.

Romans 3:25
25God presented Him as an atoning sacrificei in His blood through faith

You're certainly entitled to remove that verse from your own belief system/religion, but you are not entitled to remove it from Biblical Christianity. Stop trying to modify Christianity. You are free to create your own religion to attract like minded people who are too proud to accept the free gift of righteousness and are set on establishing their own.

Romans 5:17
17...how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of
the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

Don't try to change Christianity just because you don't believe righteousness is, or can be a free gift of God's grace in Biblical Christianity. Go make your own religion where you try to get into the kingdom on the merit of your own righteousness - you know, your supposed righteousness where you don't always do everything that God commands, as if that could somehow be considered righteousness by God (it isn't-read Deuteronomy 6:25).

It's okay to want to be saved from the just penalty of your sins. That's not selfish. It's not selfish to not want to be enslaved by sin. That's like saying it's selfish to want to be saved from a raging river or a forest fire.

This is based on an actual personal exchange with Jesus. Not some billboard advertisement.
The call to salvation in Jesus is a very personal exchange between the Holy Spirit and the heart of a person.

1 John 5:9-10
9...this is the testimony (of the Holy Spirit-see vs.6) that God has given about His Son. 10Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.

With true faith comes an obstacle to overcome.
Faith is the victory.

1 John 5:4
4...this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.

Not so with religious beliefs.
You confuse religious beliefs with faith.

Hebrews 11:1
1Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.

Faith is the assurance and certainty of things unseen, because it is the testimony of the Spirit himself confirming and showing us in our spirit what is true and real. Biblical faith is not hoping something is true, it's knowing something is true.

That's why it's so dangerous to reject the conviction of the truth. You are rejecting something you know to be true, because the Holy Spirit showed you it's true. But you rejected it. That's what blasphemy of the Spirit is all about. You're in effect calling the Holy Spirit a lying spirit of the devil. Like when the Pharisees saw with their own eyes the work and testimony of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' miracles but called it a deceitful work of the devil.
