Hi setfree,America's greatest sin is forgetting God in our daily living. All through the Old Testament that sin surfaces as the cause for God to abandon His own people. Joshua 1:16-17, "And they answered Joshua, 'All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you.' "Did they remember to do that? Not for long. And when Moses was up on the mountain getting the commandments from God, the people forgot about the fact that God, through Moses, had delivered them from Egypt, and they induced Aaron to make a false god in the form of a golden calf, Exodus 32:1-6. They forgot, within 40 days, the God who delivered them from Egypt! That's what Paul wrote about in Romans 1:18-21, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth ..." Forgetting God is the inclination of Fallen man before he is regerated by the Holy Spirit, and even after that, many forget who they belong to -- as James says in James 1:23-24, "For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he is like."waynemlj
