put this under praise because one verse that has been in my thoughts a lot lately is:

Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

What I hear there is it is better to stand with Christ who is lowly in heart and humble ...then to stand with those that divide the spoil with the proud. Consider this with Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted (divided)his raiment, and cast lots.

Countless verses including Luke 23:35-38 that fully demonstrated this “with the proud”: And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. [36] And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, [37] And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. [38] And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

stripping him of his garments...but still consider again Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Consider did He not fully demonstrate that no matter if they parted his garments, no matter if they stripped him of all honor and dignity and divided the spoil ...that He knew in himself “a better and more enduring substance” ...His standing indeed with the lowly in heart rather than with the proud and lifted up in heart. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 10:31-34 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. [32] But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; [33] Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. [34] For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

Proverbs 16:7-8 When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. [8] Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

consider 8: “better is a little with righteousness” Than “great revenues without right.” With Proverbs 16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Titled the thread “let the truth be told” not for theology sake but meant a different kind of truth. not truth so much in being correct about ideas or thoughts but maybe the opposite: a truth in openness to be wrong or admitting to a fall or fail. This song ...right or wrong makes me consider a different kind of “let the truth be told”

I don't know why it's so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There's no failure, no fall
There's no sin you don't already know
So let the truth be told
Can I really stand here unashamed
Knowin' that you love for me won't change?
Oh God if that's really true
Then let the truth be told...

why this song has made an impact on me is one) because of the above post of Jesus Christ and their dividing his garments with the proud.

but also “there is no failure or fall” with His saying pride goes before a fall. Denying failure or a fall ...is this not pride denying the spirit or humiliation and deny humility to hide and cover up the truth?

the main reason though is that one line:
Can I really stand here unashamed
Knowin' that your love for me won't change?
Oh God if that's really true
Then let the truth be told
...

if you are really Love God ...then why do I hide the truth and cover the truth instead of “let the truth be told”. Adam and Eve in the garden ...He already knew what had happened but they chose instead to hide in darkness and secret ...if they really knew He loved them instead of believing the lie whispered ...then why did they try to cover it up? We say God is love ...then why do we hide failure and a fall and side instead with pride in fear the truth will be told?
