    QUOTE for the day

“The righteous carves his name upon the rock, but the wicked writes his remembrance in the sand.” - C.H. Spurgeon

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

I‘ve been forthcoming with everyone from the very beginning. Even if someone ignores every thread that I’ve started or posted in except this one - if this thread alone is the only thread of mine anyone has ever read - it should be obvious from the second post on what I believe. Conception is...

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

I’m not a Christadelphian but that is something which I have in common with the Christadelphians. I’ve said it all along. It isn’t for people who have been reading my posts for a while. I don’t think you do. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again -> At no time has the Son of God ever...

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

Let’s try this: There was a time when the Son of God did not exist. He began to exist circa 6 BC when he was miraculously created by the God of the Jews - his God and Father - in the womb of the virgin. That is the theology of Jewish monotheism.

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

It preexisted in the mind of God. Where was Jesus before he was created? The same place the earth was before it was created. That is Jewish monotheism. The word is God’s self-expression.

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

No. I have. My creed is simple. It is the Messiah’s creed; the creed of Judaism. The God of Israel is the Father alone. How many persons do you see in John’s prologue? I was raised believing that the Son of God is literally God. I was raised trinitarian. I suppose your point is that...

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

Where was the earth before God created it @PS95?

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

No. You haven’t grasped my theology. You don’t seem to have grasped that though I was raised in trinitarian theology I now reject it. It isn’t the Messiah’s theology. See John’s prologue to his Gospel in all English translations translated from Greek to English prior to 1611. Of course...

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

Then Jesus didn’t literally preexist. In Jewish monotheism the Father’s word - not a literally preexisting Son - became flesh. I’ve never met a trinitarian who didn’t believe that Jesus is literally God.

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

Jesus was begotten by God / conceived by a woman. To be begotten / conceived is to be brought into existence. The woman gave birth to a human person. A one person God isn’t a three person God. I strongly insist on that. The way that I look at things - the way which you say is odd - is...

For what reason was Jesus to be called the Son of God?

I brought it up for Christological reasons. No. Jesus was conceived. If I were a betting man I would wager that you know plenty of people who believe Jesus is literally God.

More on the deity of Christ

”Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 1:18, DRA) I selected this particular translation for two reasons: (1) The body of the child in the womb wasn’t...
