    About Pharisees.

There are multiple mentions of Pharisees inviting Jesus to have food in their house. One would not invite Jesus if they truly hated/would be ex communicated from society for that. Association with Jesus does not seem to be a problem in Pharisee society for most of the NT narrative. Those who...

I would even add, wouldn't capturing him themselves grant them honor and maybe wealth from the king and sadduccee high priest who was the head of sahnedrin, rich and very powerful?

The quote about rabbi gamliel acts 5 34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. 35 Then he addressed the Sanhedrin: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you...

Well I wonder why would they do it. If they really wanted him to die outside of Jerusalem, they could've just taken him away after capturing him. What kind of motive you think they had except trying to save him? Is it not possible that they are some of Rabbi Gamliel students? The same Rabbi...

About the tribes I dont know much. So I guess you do not consider today's Jews in Israel to be Pharisee as they claim? They keep all Pharisee laws, and judaism always had convertion. Even if they are not the "original", they are Pharisee by the act of following the Jewish Pharisee religion that...

    About Pharisees.

I I am very happy you now know that Well, that is where their hypocrisy comes in :) But as we saw together, their name does not mean hypocrisy, it was just associated with it. The actual Pharisee teachings seem to be approved by Jesus, sadly many Pharisee did not follow their own teachings...

The word hassid comes from the word hesed, which means grace. So hassidim would mean 'ones with grace'.

Great find, "to seprate owning a different style of life" And their style was mostly more simple and detached from society. Thus it is fitting to say they "retired" or "quit" society.

By the grace of God I found another soul that works on clarifying the Pharisees. https://www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/pharisees/ I have not gone fully through it, but the meaning of the word is similar to what I have said. (I am a native hebrew speaker)

Sadly this definition is wrong. Pharisee in hebrew is Prushim, which means the ones who retire/quit. Ask a theologian that knows hebrew and you trust, he will confirm. The devil confuses many things for us.

    About Pharisees.

Many christians view Pharisees as an example of evil and sin. If they would simply like you point out say that we are all in sin equally and preach as such, there would be no purpose to show the good side of the Pharisee. A church that portrays only one side of the story and gives its...

    About Pharisees.

Some plotted to kill and some came and warned him/defended him in court. The one to put the final verdict for the death of jesus was the head priest. As christians we should look on the good side of people, like we do with paul. Or at least not only mention the bad side of a community, when...

    About Pharisees.

Many Pharisees accepted christ. In the council in jerusalem there is a whole group of pharisees that are called believers. While some Pharisees did sin in following law without spirit, it does not justify condemning them all. Especially since we know that Pharisees belived in the spirit as a...

They also tried saving him (Luke 13:31)"Just then some Pharisees arrived to tell him, “You must get right away from here, for Herod intends to kill you" and other pharisees actually saved his followers. Depends on what passages you want to focus. As a christian, the path of grace is...

Sabbath 3-5-16 Seventh Day BAPTIST of Daytona Beach Pastor Wray sermon “Don’t Be Surprised” Luke 7;36-50, Matt 7;22-23

"They had a custom that anybody could come to listen in your courtyard if a Rabbi was visiting. The visiting guest’s feet would be washed by a servant with a basin of water. Then the host would greet the guest with a kiss to welcome him. Finally the visiting guest’s head would be anointed with...

    About Pharisees.

Still, christians remember Paul in a good light. While usually christians perceive Pharisees as bad/negative. With all this information about the goodness of the Pharisees, Christians should be able to have a positive look towards the Pharisees. Especially when you consider the fact they are...

8-20-2022 Edgewater Seventh Day BAPTIST Pastor Keith “Hypocrisy” Matthew 6;1-18

At least with hypocrisy there is something good happening as well. Although some Pharisees were hypocrites, jesus tells us that we should obey them. Matthew 23:3 As such, although I also dont like hypocrisy, it cannot be that bad of a sin if Jesus recognizes authority in hypocrites.
