Back in biblical times when a person was hung on a cross there was a sign of their offenses nailed on their cross. Jesus took all of our sins(offenses) and nailed them to his cross.

Plus every sin committed in the world, weighed down with every attack spiritually from satan you could possibly think of. We could never really have an understanding of his sacrifice from a human standpoint and thank or Love him enough for what he did for us.
