    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

Maybe you should follow scripture. "For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." Romans 1:20 There is no "no fault of their own."

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

Are you saying Buddha and Confucious, etc., are other ways to God? If so, that is in direct opposition to scripture.... "“You shall have no other gods before me." Exodus 20:3 "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5 "Jesus said...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

Circling back, that's not what MT said though, is it? Either she was wrong in what she said based on scripture and it can't be condoned or you condone what she said just because she's "Mother Teresa" and are in opposition to what scripture teaches. Can't have it both ways.

    Please Help Me

Hi JohnPaul, I've read through the replies and I don't see this question asked so here I go - I mean it with all kindness so please take it that way :) I see you were raised Catholic but 'have since become non denominational." Could you please explain what you mean, exactly? Is it that you...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

There is no scripture that supports the false doctrine that any way other than Jesus is the way to God.

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

Thanks for making my point. But she did stray from biblical teaching. There's a difference. How about using the word of God as your document? That's where the truth is. Pointing out false teaching is hardly putting myself above anyone else. The blindness exists in those who follow false...

Are Joel Osteen and his wife really Christians?

Matthew 7 goes on to say vs 5 "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." John 7:24 "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” Specifically, other believers - 1 Cor 5:12-13 For what have...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

The point isn't whether or not she was an orator or that she showed anything through her actions. Here's the quote again - "“We never try to convert those who receive [aid from Missionaries of Charity] to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God’s presence and if...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

Everything isn't about hate. My post didn't in any way reflect hate. Just pointing out the fact that she didn't share Christ as the only way to God. It's not cherry picking, I could've posted other things she said, but this made my point. Even if this is the only thing she said in this vein...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

If catholics believed their faith was salvific, this statement would fly in the face of the great commission where we are to GO into this world and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While faith can't be 'forced' on anyone, that attitude that sharing (true) faith is an imposition is sad. Life...

    Why evil?

My mom used to listen to Eddy Arnold when I was growing up, so of course I heard him too. My walk began just a couple years before yours, maybe '69/70 I was 10. My dad was in the Navy, too. Korea. I recently reconnected via Facebook with a guy my family knew many years ago - actually in the...

    Why evil?

Wow, so glad you got out of that! The things they preach/teach have zero scriptural basis. I'm right there with you on the growing older...more aches & pains every day! I'm not tempted to growl at heaven, more like I'm ready to go! lol! A misguided strategy for sure! The bible just never says...

And who is part of or is to be a part of the Body of Christ?

Well, 10 pages is a lot to dig through... In case this applies, let me just say that the Song of Solomon doesn't have anything to do with the NT church, so any comparisons are like apples and oranges. Like I said in my other post, the church is the 'bride of Christ'; all believers. You can't...

    Why evil?

Hello and welcome! I'm pretty new, myself. Many people here have already given thoughtful and relevant scripture. Sometimes it helps to understand to whom the books of the bible written to or about; the OT is the history, law, prophesy, poetry, etc., regarding Israel and throughout is the...

And who is part of or is to be a part of the Body of Christ?

You're welcome :) I'm not following the connection w/the verses from the Song of Solomon - could you please clarify? Thanks!

And who is part of or is to be a part of the Body of Christ?

Hello :) If I understand the question correctly, it's who is included in the body of Christ - is that right? The body of Christ is the church - the ekklesia - the whole body of Christian believers as your first quote in Col 1 indicates. Who's included in the church (the body) - 1 Cor 12:27...

    Diagnosing Mother Teresa

This is one reason I never take for granted someone who claims to know Christ actually knows Him. She also said "If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we are converting. We become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are. … What...

Can a Christian have a demon?

It's the opposite of exegesis. Definition of eisegesis : the interpretation of a text (as of the Bible) by reading into it one's own ideas

Can a Christian have a demon?

Here's what you said: Do you know what e.g. means? Even though it's Latin meaning 'for example', it's taught in that Basic English you're admonishing me about. I'm not a boy ;) Please post chapter and verse where possession of a believer is taught, used as an example, shown where an...
