Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

No. God even loves disobedient people. He sent His Son to die while were still sinners. Loving someone doesn't mean you don't let them experience the consequences of their choices. The Bible does not say that everyone God loves will go to Heaven.

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

How is God's love not unconditional? He does not hate us because we sin. He does not hate us if we mock Him, blaspheme, molest children, kill babies, or worship the devil... God is love. It's His nature. John 3:16 doesn't say "For God so loved certain parts of world, the rest He hates."...

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

You don't speak for Jesus either. We all sin, and Jesus had to die for sexual sins as much as He had to die for someone stealing a piece of candy. I find your comment to be arrogant and judgmental. God is not pleased with that kind of behavior either... Instead of bringing this brother back...

Why Unmarried Christians Are Having Sex

Thanks for the link. I like this statement: "In fact, for many today the [serial monogamy] better satisfies the quest for greater self-fulfillment and gratification" That is the truth... gratification of the flesh is the goal of many monogamous relationships these days, not the commitment to...

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

    1) You are assuming that a 15 year old is a "child" just because US laws say that they are for certain things... They can be considered adults if they commit murder or rape. They can be emancipated. They have reproductive rights just like adults do... And the concept of a teenager being a...

    Questions for an atheist

One of the first things I do when encountering an atheist is make it clear that the Bible was never intended to be a history or science book. The Bible does not explain creation in any scientific fashion... For instance, in Genesis 1:1, the word "created" does not mean that it didn't exist...

    Is Jesus God?

It is quite obvious in this passage that Jesus claimed to be God. If he wasn't God, then he was a liar, and therefore a sinner and cannot be our savior.

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

That's not accurate. The 14th Amendment did not abridge any of the rights protected in the 10th Amendment. The privilege of marriage is 100% under the perview of the states. That's why in some states, 15 year olds can marry without parental consent, and in some states, one can marry a 2nd...

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

"As to homosexuals who cannot marry, that may all soon change in the 50 states after a favorable SCOTUS ruling let's not forget. May God guide the conservative Supreme Court to bring equality to this issue for those whose rights have been so suppressed and marginalized." Since when did God's...

Why Unmarried Christians Are Having Sex

I'm curious as to what you believe is the Bible perspective of "unmarried"... can you explain? It is my understanding that marriage in the Bible requires a monogamous life-time commitment to another person. The Bible also implies that some divorced people commit adultery if they re-marry...

The Palestinians, Israel and the Church's Attitude toward Both

Yes, very sad... Only the Truth will set them free...

Is this what we can look forward to?

"I said nothing about anyone invading out country." Sorry, perhaps I misunderstood what you meant by: "If there is no "strongman" to defend against the aggressors in the world, the thugs will rule the world." Doesn't "ruling the world" require invasion and taking over??? If not, please...

The Palestinians, Israel and the Church's Attitude toward Both

When it comes to Christians, I prefer to ask the Holy Spirit to convict them of their selfishness and sense of entitlement. And when I encounter one with such attitudes, I have no problem calling them out on it. But I don't ever want to lose sight of our prime directive - and that is to lead...

Is this what we can look forward to?

Right on! I totally agree. Infrastructure jobs are what allowed the economy to recover after the Great Depression. Today, many of us enjoy the parks, scenery and the neighborhoods opened to us after bridges were built and highways were improved by our grandparents. One of Detroit's biggest...

The Palestinians, Israel and the Church's Attitude toward Both

Wow! Powerful meme! And I must say, I agree with you on most counts... BAM! You threw it out there! I only take issue with your "shame"... You have no right to be ashamed of the people for whom our God was willing to sacrifice His own Son to save... You need it as much as they do. And...

Is this what we can look forward to?

As long as the US is the largest buyer of slaves in the world, we will be responsible for the desperate parents who send their children through dangerous terrain to get across our southern border. If we want these children and their parents to stay in their own country, we will have to stop...

The Palestinians, Israel and the Church's Attitude toward Both

I take it you are referring to Hal Lindsey's version of Revelations, which was so prolific that even the best of Christians were convinced of its validity... Jesus told us we would neither know the day nor the hour of His return... our human efforts at predicting His return, to me, distract...

Change to the Christianity Board Rules

Thanks. I'm a "Newbie" but I appreciate your attention to providing a peaceful place to share knowledge, insight and lively discussion. :) Jesus prayed to Father: "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not...

The Palestinians, Israel and the Church's Attitude toward Both

I don't think the Church has any more obligation toward Israel than we do toward any other nation - that is, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I think politics and the Church's role in Israel's affairs has become convoluted into being the same thing in some people's eyes, and that is...
