I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Government bleeds us dry, except for the churches, mosques, monasteries, and synagogues. Religious institutions are some of the biggest businesses around…the only businesses who never have to open their books in fact. We also have many elected officials making decisions purely based off of their...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Like I have mentioned previously, I am conservative…but atheist. Here the majority of Christians are conservative whereas majority of atheists are liberal. Republican Party wants to implement certain economic policies, yet they are heavily influenced by religion in their policy making (abortion...

And they all allude to something akin to Satan responsible for your deception.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

And that’s the issue of religion. Everyone else’s religion is wrong, except yours. 3,000 gods…but only yours exists. I like how you say that hell is real. We are all going to hell in someone’s religion.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

That’s almost like a Muslim telling you that you already know Allah is there and wants something of you.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Because the Bible to me is all metaphorical. I find that’s the only real purpose of it. To provide a very elaborate metaphor for the consequences of human nature. Any religious text you open can make sense…at least to me anyways. I can watch a movie with dragons…there will be many aspects from...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

But why is bloodletting not an effective cure for illness? Is it not due to science? People thought they were doing a morally good thing in the past by practicing bloodletting. They say you can’t derive ought from is, but a lot of immoral things have been done by humans simply due to ignorance.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

“Religion is not set in stone, god is”. Yet the entire religion revolves around a god set in stone. The Bible has merit, but I can never say everything in it is true. However, let’s go back to one of the statements you made. You said, “Everything in the Bible is true.” Genesis 9:28-29 says...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Science is not the religion of all atheists, just some. I understand the science changes, can be misused, misrepresented. I don’t pray to Dr. Fauci, the same guy whose come under scrutiny for being a shill of vaccine mandates. Science is a more reliable tool than religion, however. You’ve said...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Science informs morality. You may think you’re doing good by draining the blood of someone whose sick thinking the sickness will leave along with their blood (known as bloodletting that was practiced up until the 18th century) but science would inform you that the sickness is caused by a certain...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

For sure it differs from person to person. We still have tribes in corners of the world who practice the act of cannibalism for example. You might think of them as pure savages but to them eating their (hopefully already passed away) brother, uncle, or father…is a means by which they can be with...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Neither, morality is simply defined as the distinction between right or wrong. I am simply talking about the morality argument which asserts that God is its source and that atheists are immoral people.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

We still seek answers in the form of science. Science has given so much to humanity and has really dispelled a lot of ignorance. Science also helps inform our morality. For example instead of believing we are the center of the universe, we now know that we are one planet out of trillions of...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Ah, I see because you quoted only the part where I said..”Show me evidence of this god”. Prophecy is extremely ambiguous. You can take any prophecy and find ways to make it signify what you want. If I make a prophecy today, I’m sure 1000 years from now that some people would agree with it. Even...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

I have no religious beliefs. I am a hard line atheist to the point that not only do I lack the belief in a god, but I also lack belief in souls, demons, witchcraft, reincarnation, superstition, etc. All I can say is life is a mystery and that mystery gives it meaning. I don’t think it’s ever...

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Quoting the Bible is not evidence of a god. For example saying that the Bible is the word of God because the Bible says so, because the Bible is infallible….is circular reasoning.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Yes, it’s mentioned in scripture. One verse comes to mind-Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.”

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

Famous televangelist Kenneth Copeland got caught off guard by this interviewer asking him about his lavish lifestyle. I’m atheist but this guy now makes me question my stance on the existence of demons.

I’m in a strange place: very conservative, but not Christian

It is about being honest with myself when I don’t know something rather than fallaciously making an assertion without the proper evidence for it. The idea of “not knowing” scares a lot of people, they want to fill in the gap…I understand. I would rather not fill in that gap and use a more...
