Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

Can't answer that definitively, but it could very well most likely skew your beliefs and negatively impact scriptural truth or truth as you understand it to be.

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

Nope. I believe and trust in it all 100%

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Unfortunately, you are in disagreement with the scriptures because that's not what they say. 1 Peter 3:20-1, baptism doth now save us. Saul also was told to "arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins" Acts 22:16. And Jesus said as recorded in Mk 16:15-16 15And he said unto them, Go ye into...

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Good! Put me on mute and keep reading as you do, missing the subtleties of wording. Goodbye

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

As I stated, believe it all or reject it all and not selectively believe and reject what you like and dislike.

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

You don't get it. Receiving the Holy Spirit as indicated in Acts 2:38 is the spirit itself, not one of the gifts of the Spirit, one of those listed in 1 Cor 12:8-10. Read more carefully! The GIFT of the Holy Ghost is THE Holy Ghost and not one of its gifts or a manifestation of it.

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

Binary schminary. All or nothing is what I believe.

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

It boils down then to belief and acceptance. You either believe all the bible or none of it. You can't selectively belief only those parts you like and reject the rest.

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

The answer is quite simple as to the purpose of water Baptism. Acts 2:38 states it emphatically which is supported by other scriptures. Simply put, it's for the remission of sins, and then upon being obedient, you then receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, the indwellingif tge Spirit, and are...

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Purpose is the question: what was or is the purpose of baptism, and it's not to show anyone anything. A public display is NOT it's purpose.

Genesis as allegory? - History versus allegory

If historical lineage can be traced back to genesis, it's fact.

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Once again for clarity, most people make the mistake regarding your first comment wherein said " I am just acknowledging that its shown both ways, the receiving of the Holy Ghost after being baptized by water and also before being baptized by water." You need to read the related scriptures...

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

I may have taken your comment incorrectly. I assumed you meant that this, the falling of the Holy Ghost on Cornelius in Acts 10, was evidence of negating the need for water baptism. Yes, no? If yes, you are wrong as I explained. If no, then I apologize and we're more likely in sync.

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Just for clarity, baptism is not a "outer witness" of anything to anyone. That's not its purpose. The conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 happened in front of no one except Philip.

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

You are misunderstanding that scripture. Why did the Holy Ghost fall on Cornelius? Why also, on the only other time this happened in this manner, did the Holy Ghost fall on the 11 apostles in Acts 2? It was a sign from God. In Acts 2, it was a sign from God to convince the Jews onbthe day of...

WHAT DID JESUS MEAN TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT

Baptism=the water at which point you also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And read Romans 6

THE APOSTLES DID NOT ALL PREACH THE SAME GOSPEL

I'm not going to go around in circles with you. There is one gospel, one faith, one Lord, one baptism, for everyone. Believe what you like. Goodbye

THE APOSTLES DID NOT ALL PREACH THE SAME GOSPEL

I don't know what you're mean..it appears that you, like many others erroneously think that you can find the complete message on any given biblical topic, nicely in one place, and that each and every time it must be repeated in total. That's not how it works nor does that make sense. Why are...

THE APOSTLES DID NOT ALL PREACH THE SAME GOSPEL

Not preached all at the same time which h is obvious and logical, but the point is it is one gospel not many different ones or that impose different things on different peoples

THE APOSTLES DID NOT ALL PREACH THE SAME GOSPEL

Mark 16:15 says in Jesus own words, "preach the gospel to every creature", singular, not gospels, and specific, "the", and "every creature" means the same one to everyone. And Matt 28 says "teach all nations", not a unique one to Jews, and some other one to non-Jews.
