Why we should use the KJV Bible on the Internet.

Neither "Jehovah" nor "Calvary" nor "Holy Ghost" should be in a modern Bible. They are accidents of translation, not in the original text. "Jehovah" should really be YHWH, "Calvary" (a Latin word) is better rendered "Place of the Skull", and "Holy Ghost" should always be "Holy Spirit". And if I...

Can’t find a verse of importance

There are some similarities with Numbers 24:19 and I Samuel 15:29. One of those may be the verse you're thinking of.

How do you do bible study?

I use commentaries a lot. They give you useful background information (history, geography, cultural differences). This is very important because without this knowledge you can jump to the wrong conclusions about what a passage means. Also, the good ones will point out where Christians differ in...

    Creation Science Seminar

It would never have occurred to the first readers of Genesis to add the ages in the genealogies together to work out the age of the earth. That wasn't what genealogies were for. They were also well accustomed to the idea that genealogies were incomplete (see Matthew 1 for an example - several...

10 Basic Questions about Speaking in Tongues

These are all basically the same question. Tongues recognisable as known languages are specifically mentioned only in Acts 2. As far as other tongues are concerned, how would one know if it was a human language or an angelic one? There are thousands of languages in the world today, and many more...

Houtos Means Only "This" (John 6:60 & 1:2)

In Greek, as in all languages, there's often more than one way of saying the same thing. "He" can be rather non-specific, even ambiguous in certain circumstances. Replacing it with "This man" or "That man" is a perfectly normal thing to do, and can make the meaning clearer. John particularly...

Houtos Means Only "This" (John 6:60 & 1:2)

Quite the opposite. It was written in Greek, remember, not in English - so it CAN refer to a person - and in context, in this case it does.

Houtos Means Only "This" (John 6:60 & 1:2)

Because English grammar isn't the same as Greek grammar. In Greek, houtos can be used as an adjective or as a pronoun, just as it stands. And you can use it as a pronoun not just for inanimate and abstract things, but also for people. But in English, you can't say "This was in the beginning"...

Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96

] It's Latin. F.D. stands for "Fidei Defensor" ("Defender of the Faith" in Latin)

Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96

Oh yes we do - there's one here: The Queen trained as a mechanic while a teenager during World War II. These photos show how she served her country.

Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96

I'm only 2 years older than you. I'm not sure how long it takes for a complete change in the coinage to be put into effect - probably several years.

Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96

All newly minted coins and newly printed notes will have the King on them. But the old ones are still legal tender and will continue to circulate until they wear out. I remember as a child (before the decimal currency was introduced in 1971) seeing pennies and halfpennies with the head of King...

London's mayor says this winter Brits will freeze and starve, cant afford green energy.

I'm sure it did - but where did they get it from? (By the way, I never watch videos - except occasionally when they're less than 5 minutes long. This one is 14 minutes. I just don't have the time.) Apparently someone did an opinion poll a month ago and came up with 1 in 4 - that's 1 in 4 of...

London's mayor says this winter Brits will freeze and starve, cant afford green energy.

Not sure where that figure comes from but there will definitely be a large proportion of the population who will lower their themostats or leave the heating off until it gets really cold, and yes - there will be some who will try to manage without heating at all. I volunteer for Citizens Advice...

London's mayor says this winter Brits will freeze and starve, cant afford green energy.

The £400 is for everyone - there are extra discounts for the vulnerable groups. If you have a smart meter, the discount will be credited to your meter. If you don't, you'll be sent some kind of voucher... your supplier should tell you by October, which is when the scheme starts. £400 energy...

London's mayor says this winter Brits will freeze and starve, cant afford green energy.

Our Government is giving everyone a discount of £400 off their energy bills this winter. Our energy company say they will set up a scheme so that we can "donate" our discount to someone else. If it gets off the ground, we'll probably do that. We have solar panels on our roof so we're cushioned...

U.K. Government - Boris has resigned

Why should our monarchy be a "Biblical" one? I don't even know what you mean by that. Does anyone in the UK want such a thing? If they do, whatever's standing in the way, it isn't the Magna Carta.

U.K. Government - Boris has resigned

Nearly all the laws that were in the Magna Carta were repealed during the 19th century, and only three clauses remain in force. None of them are to do with the monarchy.

U.K. Government - Boris has resigned

They didn't resign from being MPs, and they didn't resign from the Conservative party. They resigned from ministerial positions (not all from positions in the Cabinet, a lot of them were junior ministers). So they go back to being ordinary MPs.

U.K. Government - Boris has resigned

Presumably he's staying until a new leader can be chosen. It's a process that takes 2-3 months, and you can't have nobody in charge for that length of time.
