What does it mean to be Under the Law?

Do you think God keeps his law, jack?

My agnostic friend says: "I don't need it." - How would you respond?

I guess he loved the world even while being unfriendly to them.....hmmmm, sounds pretty 'religious' to me.

Further to post # 3... The other view is that you a worthless piece of sh.t but you will be forgiven if you believe in Jesus. The first view glorifies God because he never stops loving, the second view glorifies yourself by putting the onus on your believing, implying that God's glory and...

Looking at the Statement of Faith

Firstly, I wasn't asking you what other people would do, I was asking you. Secondly, you said you would take it. Recognising its value, would you need to be told to take it?

If someone handed you (gave) a pound of pure gold, would you take it?

Looking at the Statement of Faith

Once ignorance is recognised, wisdom does not argue with it. Proverbs 26:4-5 – Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes. The self-confident fool thinks too highly of himself and his opinions...

My agnostic friend says: "I don't need it." - How would you respond?

I wonder if Jesus was yoked to humanity.

What does it mean to be Under the Law?

What does it mean to be Under the Law? Being under law means you are motivated by law (ie, fear of punishment) as opposed to being motivated by the knowledge that you are loved, that you are precious and that you are worth dying for.

Even as discouragement encroaches we persevere, sheeplike. Do not give up because some are difficult. There is no community that I know of where harmony is a given. There are lots of variables in any community. Here are some.... 1. Most struggle with maturity......are consumed by navel gazing...

Looking at the Statement of Faith

Selfishness is what defines a sinner and we are saddled with this from birth. Any parent will tell you about the difficult nights of sleep they get when babies are small. We learn to modify the gime gime gime drive by clever approaches but the fundamental drive is still there.

Is Antisemitism caused by hatred of the Sabbath?

Sounds like you have a day full of activity. Do you get any rest at all?

Is Antisemitism caused by hatred of the Sabbath?

If folk are persuaded there is no validity to a point of view (in this case the Sabbath issue) then why get the knickers in a knot? If however folk are resisting that which is valid, push back is only the attempt to hide or find a scape goat.

Is Antisemitism caused by hatred of the Sabbath?

Just ask any religious Jew, they kept tabs on it. There is no direction by either Jesus or the apostles to modify or have the seventh day sabbath abrogated. This practice has been done by tradition developed in later centuries. In fact those responsible (Ecclesiastical Rome) for its change...

    Should they sharpen sword

The question that arises is, who are we going to listen to? Is it Moses or is it Jesus...perhaps it's Elijah? Here is why I think Jesus trumps both Moses and Elijah... 1. On the mount of transfiguration where both Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus and the disciples, the voice from the cloud...

    Should they sharpen sword

No doubt he was passionate about serving God however, it is you who is designating that murdering God's enemies was done at God's behest. You say I am offering no scripture, well here you have some..... Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in...

    Should they sharpen sword

I am not portraying him as a rebel against God. I am portraying him as a man with like passions as us, not someone untouched with shortcomings. If you need to refresh yourself with the details of Elijah's story it would be helpful...and if you need to go back and read these posts to get...

Interesting that the Bible is "the Word of God", unless someone quotes a translation you disagree with.

Folk, even God's folk throughout history (both OT and NT) have like passions as we do. Yes, they were inspired. Yes, they acted in faith, Yes, they wrote as they heard and saw, Yes, they where God's instruments to lead an erring and rebellious people, yet in their faith, their position of trust...
