Why are the martyrs under heavens altar so eager to see justice for their killers?

At the risk of frustrating the question, I think it's precisely because they (the elders) are, indeed, metaphorical. Proverbs 24:17 certainly helps to make a good case for such an interpretation. Sorry, Sis. :( How are you, btw? .

Reader Poll - Where did the Bible come from?

The last one I got came from Ollie's Discount Warehouse. :P .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

Seems like a useful guide for folks who are inclined to judge Sabbath-keepers. I wonder how well such a guide for the purpose of judging Sabbath-decliners/objectors would be received. .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

I think your opinion as to what it means would be more pertinent to why you're pressing the question. Sorry, but my Poker face is pretty lousy, and if you're playing the ex-Adventist card, the gloves are off, my friend. .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

It's rhetorical—intended to provoke thought in the minds of any who might be reading. Sorry, but I'd rather not derail the thread by entertaining questionable curiosity. Paul seems to be making a clear distinction in 1 Corinthians 7:19. And I'm not interested in "judging" anyone, although...

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

Are we to assume, then, that Matthew 21:43 was included in Scripture by mistake or, worse yet, that Christ was a false prophet? 1 Corinthians 7:19 — Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters. Paul is here trying to help us out...

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

Matthew 21:43 — “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. Galatians 3:29 — And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. .

Why don't we enforce the biblical prescriptives on hair length for men and women?

I'm still not sure how this is well illustrated by a woman shaving her head. :) .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

"No... But..." is not a very good answer, btw. .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

Where's the yardstick for this? Because at the first mention of the 4th commandment, you invariably get people who insist you've crossed over into "looked down on" territory—it literally never fails. Folks can argue about nearly any other issue and the "judgment/condemnation" accusations are...

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

All of this hair splitting just makes me want to take a nap. I didn't say you don't believe in imparted righteousness—I put it in the form of a question. And now you have gone to Olympian lengths to try and make sure that justification is seen to be held in far higher regard by you than...

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

Do you think advising others to abstain from breaking the other nine commandments, "saved" or not, is falling from grace? .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

What a coincidence! Me too! But I've only been in that position for 34 years. :( .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

I don't think it will count unless it comes from one of Paul's epistles (which I just love, btw). And you should only quote the ones that are controversial, or seem to be (but actually are not) contradictory to other Scripture. That's really popular and folks around here really like that. ;) .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

So you only subscribe to imputed righteousness—not imparted? Should we walk also as Christ Himself walked? Was His righteousness on Earth only imputed or was it also characterized by the righteous works He did? .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

It's just barely possible that some folks don't like to oblige virtual inquisitions caused by morbid pharisaical curiosity. .

What will happen to Christians who reject the Sabbath?

We probably ought to get back on topic, by the way. Just sayin'. .
