Is it okay to blame God for stuff that is his fault?

I used to believe that. But what happens if you never find "the one"? Or if "the one" is taken away? [

To whom was "the law" given? - What law and when?

To whom was "the law" given? - What law and when? Please state why either way. For this topic I want to focus on this scripture quoted below. Notice that this refers to a time "before the law was given" when "sin was in the world". When was that time? When was the law given and to whom was...

Is the Good News actual news? - No longer news to most

St. SteVen said: For the most part, the Good News is no longer news. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In areas where the gospel has not been preached before, or is unknown, the Gospel is indeed Good News. With the emphasis on NEWS. But does the gospel lose its newsworthiness if known by the hearer...

"My doctrinal opinion is true; you're doctrinal opinion is false." - Got it?

"My doctrinal opinion is true; you're doctrinal opinion is false." - Got it? Say what? Or worse... "Who should I believe, you, or the Word of God?" (in reference to a man-made doctrinal opinion) Basically, playing the "God card" to win a doctrinal argument. "How will you top that?" Why do we...

Lukewarm as Indifference Toward God - He prefers Cold to Indifferent

Everyone (hopefully) is familiar with the "lukewarm" passage about the church in Laodicea . Oftentimes related to the modern church of today. Seems appropriate. Text at the bottom of this OP. That "lukewarm" passage states that God (Jesus) prefers EITHER hot or cold to lukewarm. I had always...

    Why I love the Bible

They knew; but they hid the truth from us. Probably thought we couldn't handle it. Which is true, I suppose. When did we learn this? And from whom? Not from the church. At least I didn't. [

Is it okay to blame God for stuff that is his fault?

Adam had no intention of eating thereof. They were deceived by the serpent. It was part of God's plan for the redemption of humankind. There had to be a reason for humankind to be in need of redemption. Who should we blame for that? Who's plan was it? And who is sovereign over that plan...

Is it okay to blame God for stuff that is his fault?

Yes. We should expect both consequences AND rewards for our willful deeds. But in the end we had no idea what we were doing. Life is a puzzle. In general, we fail when we are reactive and win when we are proactive. Good point. Ultimately, it's rather futile to think we have all the answers...

Is it okay to blame God for stuff that is his fault?

I found myself in a bit of a minor frustration. My reaction was to raise a fist and blame God. All in jest of course. I believe that God has a sense of humor and can stand a bit of honest frustration. If we believe God is sovereign, then he is ultimately responsible for this mess we are in...

    Why I love the Bible

Consider the whole process involved to put a Bible in our hands today. 1) Oral traditions 2) Written accounts (usually long after the events occurred) 3) Collected writings (merged into books) Multiple authors 4) The body of original autographs/manuscripts (now all gone) 5) Copies of copies of...

    Why I love the Bible

Biblical Inerrancy is not a provable claim. IMHO Even when applied to the original autographs (manuscripts) that no longer exist. All we have is copies of copies of copies of copies... Which are littered with textual variants. (scribal errors) To what SINGLE Bible translation would inerrancy...

The challenge in Christianity is not to love Jesus, it's to love Judas.

Didn't feel remorse? He committed suicide over it. (and returned the silver) [

The challenge in Christianity is not to love Jesus, it's to love Judas.

Are you sure? Perhaps you have missed the point of this thread. Are we to love Judas while God hates him? [

    Why I love the Bible

This reminded me of a thought I had as a young adult in the church. These people talk about the same things over and over. Never anything new. I came to sort of understand why that was. They were fundamentalists. The fundamentals were everything. Adding anything was wrong to them. But it seemed...

    Why I love the Bible

    Why I love the Bible

My way of agreeing with a statement to make a point without agreeing with it in total. I often have to (accept) speak the same language as these folks as a method of clear communication. Otherwise I would have to pick at every word they use. Sounds exhausting. [
