Fear Rules Christianity - True or False?

Just curious, Wrangler… do you believe the dead can speak with the living? (There’s a “method to my madness”, please bear with me.)

Fear Rules Christianity - True or False?

I think you know the answer…. Of course not. As Aunty Jane said: Stephen, have you ever considered the laws given to Adam? He was given basically only 3 laws, two of which brought pleasure: 1) cultivate the Garden (eventually extending its boundaries) - satisfying / fulfilling work; and 2/ “be...

    Wise Men

Hello, Asoul…I didn’t mean to ire you, but get everyone to think: They “saw his star in the East”…. What star? Where’s that in the Bible? Who look at stars for “religious enlightenment”? From a Christian ministry site… Who Were the Magi and Why Do They Matter? — Youth Pastor Theologian). ...

    Wise Men

Many don’t want to reason on the text. Αnd apparently, lying is ok. (The Devil is getting - and has gotten - big kicks out of it.) I mean, the very idea of God approving of pagan magicians & astrologers - those practicing activities that God condemns - to honor His Son, should be abhorrent...

    Wise Men

Oh grief…. The light led the magi to Herod, first! There was no reason for that, other than informing Herod so that Herod would try to kill him. The Magi were just unwitting accomplices. I asked you how you feel about the magi depiction in the Nativity scene, since it’s not true. I...

    Wise Men

That was no answer to my question. First of all, how do you know what “Satan…. wouldn’t have done”? He’s a master of deception. - 2 Corinthians 11:14… “….Satan himself keeps disguising himself as an angel of light.” Obviously, the source of this light was trying to get Jesus killed, that is...

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

    Even Satan quoted Scripture !

If you won’t answer my question & address the issue, then why respond?

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

To believe that God “burns” anybody forever, is awful! Jeremiah 7:31

    Wise Men

This is sort of old, I know, but maybe this will help?… Exactly! If Jesus is in Bethlehem, and the Magi wanted to honor him, why did the “Star” take them to King Herod first? So Herod would find out, and try to kill Jesus!

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

If Jesus is your God, why do make Him so cruel & vindictive?? Jesus was loving and kind. You like that passage, don’t you? What’s “the beast”? What is the “false prophet”? What is the Greek origin of this word “tormented”? Do you at least have anything good to say? Your vitriol is repulsive.

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

Hello, Scott…. I’m sure you would agree that the Bible cannot contradict itself, right? So it’s best to examine, without our own prejudicial leanings or bias, other Scriptures that deal with the subject of the soul, death, and condition of the dead, to find the interpretation that explains all...

    Where does Evil come from?

Peace to you through Christ too, my cousin.

    Where does Evil come from?

Truer words. Yep, he started it. John 8:44; 1 John 3:8

    Where does Evil come from?

Keep in mind the context of Isaiah 45:7…. It applies to Babylon, the nation that was the enemy of God’s people. Also, it doesn’t say God ‘created evil’ (past tense), does it? No. Can God “create evil” for the enemies of His people? Is He justified to do so? Certainly!

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

Please! I couldn’t let this go, @Aunty Jane . She’s actually way more humble than you! What she posts, are not her own ideas. She’s humble enough to accept who has been given accurate understanding of Scripture. Just as the 1st-Century Christians showed humility & listened to the Apostles...

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

No they weren’t. Human “spirits in prison”? How can that be, when the Bible clearly says “the spirit returns to God who gave it”? -Ecclesiastes 12:7 “The dead know nothing.”Ecclesiastes 9:5. No, the spirits were the “angels that sinned” which Peter mentioned @ 2 Peter 2:4, thrown into...

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

“…paradise in hell…”??? From where did you get this? Not from Scripture. The concept of people immediately going to live in another room after their death, is not from the Bible. It is from pagan Greek philosophy. The *only* hope the Bible holds out for dead people living again in the future...

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

You’re forgetting vs.18. This was after He was “made alive,” ie., His resurrection. Jesus was dead for 3 days. Then, on the 3rd day, He was resurrected, ie., “made alive in the spirit.”

Where was Jesus between his death and resurrection?

Yes, that is basically what happens… for the person who died. The dead “know nothing.” Ecclesiastes 9:5 So, when their resurrection occurs, it’ll seem instantaneous, even if they died 4,000 yrs ago. Isaiah 38:18…“For the Grave cannot glorify you, Death cannot praise you. Those who go down...
