The third way (Arminianism v Calvinism)

What Bible doctrine of original sin? What bible doctrine of limited atonement. In your interpretation of " Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men" means every person without exception. Romans wasn't written in the Hebrew language. That is not Reformed Theology. Reformed...

The third way (Arminianism v Calvinism)

Rom 5:15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. If the many who died through one man's trespass are, as you claim, the entire mass of...

The third way (Arminianism v Calvinism)

And you change the meaning of the word mid-sentence and create an entire false theology on that mid-sentence change.

Faith vs. "the Faith" - Which one was once delivered?

I might have been able to give you a decent answer to that once, but my studies for my Greek courses were over 60 years ago and I didn't keep up with it. I wish I had. But I [τοις] is the definite article for the saints.

Faith vs. "the Faith" - Which one was once delivered?

Jud 1:3 ᾿Αγαπητοί, πᾶσαν σπουδὴν ποιούμενος γράφειν ὑμῖν περὶ τῆς κοινῆς σωτηρίας, ἀνάγκην ἔσχον γράψαι ὑμῖν παρακαλῶν ἐπαγωνίζεσθαι τῇ ἅπαξ παραδοθείσῃ τοῖς ἁγίοις πίστει. Strong's G3588 ὁ, ἡ, τό ho hē to ho, hay, to The masculine, feminine (second) and...

    Justified by Works

Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Is that promoting justification by works?

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

Hobie, you must have the Catholic concept of forgiveness. It is not some on-again-off-again condition needing to be renewed at each incident of the child of God committing another sin. Forgiveness is a state of being for the one who has been saved. Paul refers to that as having been justified...

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

But the verses don't say what you want them to say. That is the problem with so much of what is wrong within Christendom.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Sillier that thinking that the sun or the rattlesnake "waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God"? I don't think there is much that is sillier than that.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Where exactly do you read about that.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Then I repeat myself. I think that your entire analysis of that passage is pure nonsense. You have not supported your argument with scripture. You have simply chosen the wrong translation/interpretation of the Greek word "ktisis"

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

How else are they to "wait with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God"?

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

I believe nature is exactly as God created it to be.

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Let me understand what your point is. You think that the Greek word "ktisis" in Romans 8:18-23 means God's entire creation, the entire universe and everything in it; but, it doesn't include the lost humanity?

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

You didn't support it with scripture. You just picked the translation/interpretation of the Greek word κτίσις [ktisis] that you wanted. Why would I need to refute that. It was simply your choice. And a really poor one at that. How about Mark 16:15? And he said to them, "Go into all the...

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

Personally, I think that your entire analysis of that passage is pure nonsense. And I don't mean that in any derogatory or mean spirited way. But the idea that any part of the brute creation has a conscience being that could engage in the manner you suggest is neither biblical nor scientific...

Is your faith your own? - Is "the Faith" prescribed by a human institution?

In the Romans 8 passage, the translation/interpretation of the Greek to get the English word "creation" meaning the whole of creation is just wrong. The only "creation" in view is humanity. The rocks, trees, mountains, oceans, animals are not waiting eagerly or at all for anything.
