    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

Do, you think the Bible is in error? Or, the people in the Bible were in error? If so, why didn't the Bible point that out? If you place yourself above the Bible, then you invite error. If you oppose the Church founded by Christ, that wrote the New Testament, and about which St. Paul said is...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

The nations don't wear a crown, nor are they in heaven. Many Protestants will claim that here we see Jesus making clear that there is no special reverence to be given to his mother. When the unnamed woman wants to heap “blessing” on Mary, Jesus seems to reject the notion. “Blessed rather,” he...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

The Catholic Church teaches that Jesus is the only intercessor with God, the Father. And Mary is probably the most powerful intercessor with her son, Jesus. Jesus never broke any of the 10 Commandments, including, "Honor thy father and mother." So, she has much more sway with Him than we do...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

You clearly don't know how to interpret Scripture. That's why St. Peter warned against the do-it-yourself approach. Revelation 12:1 says: A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. The woman referred...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

Mary can certainly pray for us. She is in heaven, fully united to God. She is, according to Rev. 12:1, the queen of heaven. She is the "woman* clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." What women wear crowns? Queens. She is the...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

And what guarantee do you have that your interpretation of Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and not just your personal interpretation filtered through 21st century lenses and your own experiences? The Baptists believe that Baptism of infants is invalid. Anglicans and Episcopaleans (and...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Of course. Greek was the literary language chosen at the time. And, the two words were used because that was how Greek was grammatically written. God would not have wanted a feminine noun to represent Peter, a male.

Where does the Pope get his authority?

The whole issue, I think, is a non-starter. From what I recall, the words petros and petra were used for grammatical reasons. One is masculine and one is feminine. It would have been a grammatical error to assign a feminine noun to Peter, who was a male. Additionally, there was, about 200...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

amadeus, thanks for sharing your story. I find it very interesting. Were you aware that at every Mass, the Bible is read and explained? It's only been fairly recent in history that there was any interest in the world for universal literacy. So, most people could hear the Word of God and hear...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

So you are contending that one should never pray in public or in a group?

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

So, how real is your relationship with God? Do you take the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ (God) onto your tongue and into your stomach? (See Gospel of John, Chapter 6)? Do you go to Confession and have your sins forgiven you by a priest who has Christ's authority to forgive...

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

Did Jesus say to only pray the prayer once? Luke 18:1 Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.

    About the "Holy Rosary" prayer

BlessedPeace, it's not the beads, The beads are just a help to organize your prayers. In fact, you can say the Rosary on your fingers, if you like. FYI, I just did that today because I was driving. it's the prayers, not the device. The Rosary is the prayer of the Gospel. Every prayer and...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Sprinkling a handful of Scripture quotes in your post, without giving your logic associated with the point you're trying to make, is like trying to wave a magic wand to make your point. Many claim to be "called by God," like Jim Jones, et al. And many in our society claim to be something...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Again, you can't get out from under your personal, and erroneous, interpretation of Scripture. Show me by what authority you interpret Scripture.

    The war against the church

It's Marxism (Communism/Socialism) straight up. It's all about power. The Marxists look at Christianity as a competitor and will do any and everything to suppress it. We are at war, and have been for a while. It's just that most people didn't/don't realize it. Until we do and stand up...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Brakelite, there are two types of "tradition" spoken of in the Bible. One is merely common customs. The other is Holy Tradition, which St. Paul refers to in 2 Thes. 2:15. Traditions in this sense means "teaching." St. Paul puts oral tradition (oral teaching) on a par with written tradition...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

Absolutely nothing in Catholic doctrine contradicts anything Paul taught. However, I'm sure there are lots of things in Catholic doctrine that contradict what you mistakenly think Paul taught, through your errant personal interpretation of Scripture. That doesn't put either the Church or Paul...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

No, he's not. He is venerating the mother of Jesus. Jesus honored His mother (unless you claim He broke one of the Commandments, to honor thy father and mother). On the Cross, Jesus gave Mary to mankind as our mother, too. We, too, honor her, like Jesus.
